Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Taming Animals Guide – Best Skills, Untameable Animals

Our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Taming Animals Guide will help you learn all about taming animals, untameable animals, and best skills to tame creatures.

A returning feature from the previous installment in the series, Origins, is how you can tame animals and have them fight by your side. The enemy mercenaries have them, why shouldn’t you? Our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Taming Animals Guide will help you learn all about taming animals to have them fight alongside you in the hour of need.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Taming Animals

Acquiring animals as pets or companions require the use of a skill titled the Beast Master. This applies to all wild animals including wolves, dogs, lions, and even bears as long as you can knock them out in one way or another.

The ability itself is Tier 3 and unlocks after you’ve reached level 10. The skill lies under the Hunter Ability tab. Do note that there is still a certain exception to some animals that you cannot tame like Pack Leaders or Alpha Animals.

Previously, a Sleep Dart was used for knocking out an animal and it would be hardly surprising if the same method is used in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to tame animals.

Other untameable animals include the legendary and elite beasts which only serve the purpose of providing the fur and other materials required for trading and crafting purposes.

Furthermore, AC: Odyssey also introduces a skill in the Arrows tree branch, one called the Arrow Master which lets you deliver a hit that paralyzes enemies but doesn’t eliminate them. Maybe this could be used as an alternative to knocking out animals in order to tame them.

Another technique, though mostly used in combat to throw enemies off cliffs and off the edges of high buildings, is the Spartan Kick. It won’t kill unless an enemy falls over from a height, so it can be used to knock animals down and tame them thereafter.

You cannot tame more than one wild animal at a given time. In order to choose another one, you need to un-tame your existing companion. Tamed companions would not stay with you permanently and be ready to say goodbye to them as soon as they’re killed in the heat of the battle. Though different animals will have different levels of endurance for the amount of damage they can take before perishing.

Tamed creatures are very useful against a group of enemies and especially those that come with their own pets or companions. A creature fighting beside you against a mercenary with a terrifying beast of his own evens the odds and the fight is much fair and easier to handle.

As of now, our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Taming Animals Guide is a work-in-progress. We will continue to add more information in coming days so be sure to stay tuned!
