Drachmae is the name of the game in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Everything from buying engravings to purchasing weapons, armor, availing blacksmith’s services, hiring mercenaries, and upgrading your ship requires money. There is a high probability that you will find yourself running out of Drachmae after going through a couple of chapters. Our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Money Farming Guide is here to prevent that from happening.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Money Farming
Earning some cash in AC: Odyssey is as easy as it can be – as long as you remain smart about it.
The game offers you multiple ways of earning Drachmae aside from completing main missions and optional quests. In this guide, we will go through them one by one.
- Complete Forts
- Treasure Chests
- Complete Bounties
- Destroy Enemy Ships
- Dismantle Unnecessary Gear/Weapons
Quite early in the game, you will gain access to an ability/skill that will allow you to see all the nearby collectibles and chests. Forts/Fortresses are heavily guarded areas that will get you a massive amount of XP as well as Drachmae to top it off.
However, be sure not to miss any chests lying in the area. One of the best things about farming forts/fortresses is that they tend to respawn enemies.
This should allow you to loop around 2-3 forts for money and some weapons – we will talk about them later. We suggest farming Phokis after you arrive in Athens.
Treasure Chests combined with Nation Chests are another good source of income in AC: Odyssey. We highly recommend keeping your eyes peeled for these chests, as they are usually brimmed with money.
Aside from money, sometimes, these chests contain weapons/armor that you should be able to sell.
Similar to The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, you can check bulletin boards to come across potential bounties that upon completion will reward you with XP, Drachmae, and other goodies.
However, be sure to check a bounty’s rewards before accepting it. You should not waste your time on worthless rewards. Continuing to complete bounties should allow you to trigger a Conquest Battles and with it, more chances of earning money.
Destroying enemy ships is another decent source of money in Odyssey. While cruising through the seas, you will come across enemy ships on several occasions. These ships not only contain rare materials but also chests brimmed with Drachmae.
You should always try to target higher-level vessels and loot them dry. Even if you do not find any Drachmae, the items alone will make it worth your while.
Dismantling useless gear is arguably the most efficient way of earning Drachmae in the game. During the course of the game, you should have accumulated a ton of gear pieces and weapons.
Since you will not use any of these items, try to dismantle/sell them for some extra cash. However, it is important to know that you cannot sell Legendary Gear so be sure to keep it in mind.
Try to follow these tips and I’m sure you will see yourself rolling in Drachmae in no time. If you have any more handy tips for us, do not be hesitant to share them with us in the comments section below!
