Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Is Getting Redesigned Naval Combat

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the next game in the Assassin's Creed series. The game is getting a couple of new features. This is what you need to know.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game is getting a couple of new features and the naval combat is being redesigned. Game Director on Odyssey Scott Phillips talked about the matter and here we are going to look into what he had to say regarding the matter. First, he talked about how new tech is being used in order to support the seamless open world. The following is what he had to say in this regard:

We felt like it was a good time to bring back something that fans were really happy with in past Assassin’s Creeds. Origins touched on it a little bit, and then we sort of redesigned it – had to build all new tech in order to support the seamless open-world nature.

The combat system has now been changed in order to fit the game. One of the features is that the more damage you do to an enemy ship the more attacks you unlock and the unlocked attacks are more powerful.

We knew that it’s very different from 17th-century pirate ships, so we had to approach it from a different way.

The new naval combat system in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, should be unlike anything that we have seen in the previous game and the following is what Phillips had to say in this regard:

It’s much more sort of Fast and Furious but it is authentic to that time period and how they would have fought, which is something that we try to aim for… that it passes that sort of sniff test of ‘Yeah, that’s about right.

It will be interesting to see what Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be like and with Gamescom 2018 around the corner, we might be able to get a closer look at what the game has to offer. For now, what we know for sure is that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will not have multiplayer and that the director wants to bring it to the Nintendo Switch but its complicated.

Let us know what you think about Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and whether or not you are interested in playing the game.
