Limgrave Region Guide In Elden Ring
Limgrave is where every Tarnished wakes up, and it is built to teach. Its fields are wide enough to ride around anything, its dungeons are short, its bosses telegraph their attacks, and almost everything a first character needs sits within a few minutes of the Church of Elleh. The region has three parts: the grassland of Limgrave proper around Agheel Lake, the hill of Stormhill that climbs toward Stormveil Castle, and the Weeping Peninsula to the south across the Bridge of Sacrifice. To the east it borders Caelid, which is far above its level, and to the north Stormveil Castle guards the road to Liurnia.
Recommended level and how long to stay
Levels 1 to around 30 cover the whole region, with Margit at 25 and Godrick a little after. Stay until you have a weapon at +3 or better, the Spirit Calling Bell, the Flask of Wondrous Physick and both talisman-relevant catacombs cleared, and leave the Weeping Peninsula for the run at Castle Morne once Stormhill feels comfortable. Our Progression Route and How to Level Up cover the early stat priorities.

The dungeons guide has the full checklist with bosses and rewards; the short version is that the region holds one legacy dungeon, a castle, four catacombs, four caves, two tunnels and a scatter of ruins and churches.
- Stormveil Castle, the legacy dungeon, with Gostoc's side gate, the Iron Whetblade, two prayerbooks and Godrick at the end.
- Castle Morne on the Weeping Peninsula, where Irina's letter and Edgar wait.
- Catacombs: Deathtouched for the Uchigatana, Murkwater for Banished Knight Engvall, Tombsward for Lhutel the Headless, and Fringefolk Hero's Grave behind two Stonesword Keys for the Erdtree's Favor and Dragon Communion Seal.
- Caves: Murkwater Cave for Patches, Coastal Cave for the Tailoring Tools, Highroad Cave for a Golden Seed, and Earthbore Cave on the peninsula.
- Tunnels: Limgrave Tunnels and, on the Caelid border, Gael Tunnel with Moonveil behind the Magma Wyrm.

NPCs and merchants
Limgrave introduces most of the cast. Varre greets you at The First Step, Kale at the Church of Elleh sells the Crafting Kit and Chain Set, Melina offers her accord at the Gatefront Ruins, and Renna appears at the church at night with the Spirit Calling Bell. Along the roads you meet Roderika at the Stormhill Shack, Yura by Agheel Lake, Alexander stuck north of the shack, Boc disguised as a bush, Kenneth Haight on his ruin, Sellen beneath the Waypoint Ruins and Blaidd howling in the Mistwood Ruins. On the Weeping Peninsula, Irina sits by the Bridge of Sacrifice. Merchant Locations covers the Nomadic Merchants in both halves.
Items worth collecting before you leave
- The Flask of Wondrous Physick and a Crimson Crystal Tear at the Third Church of Marika.
- The Whetstone Knife and Storm Stomp in the Gatefront Ruins cellar, which switch on Ashes of War.
- The Map Fragments for West Limgrave, East Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula, each on a stele beside a road.
- Early weapons: the Uchigatana, Twinblade, Lordsworn's Greatsword, Morning Star and Winged Scythe, all listed in the weapons guide.
- Talismans: the Axe Talisman in the Mistwood Ruins, the Green Turtle Talisman near Summonwater, the Lance Talisman in Stormhill and the Crimson Amber Medallion from the peninsula merchant.
- The Royal House Scroll at Agheel Lake South for Sellen, and Golden Runes on corpses for the first few levels.
Where to go next
Stormveil Castle is the intended exit and Godrick the first Great Rune, after which Where To Go After Stormveil Castle explains the two roads into Liurnia of the Lakes. A cliff path north of the castle bypasses Margit entirely for players who want Liurnia's loot first. Caelid to the east is always open and always too high a level for a fresh character, though the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling are worth the sprint for a sorcerer. The Siofra River Well in Mistwood drops you into the first underground region whenever you feel ready.
