Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal looks like an action role-playing game and is played like a scheduled one. Almost everything worth having in it is metered: eight bounties a day, three Bestiary pages, three empowered rifts, two Helliquary raids a week, one Legendary Crest a month. The reset is 3 a.m. on your server's local time in every region the game runs in, the weekly rollover is Monday at the same hour, and the monthly leaderboards turn over on the first.

That timetable is the honest way into this wiki, because it decides what you should be doing tonight rather than what exists. Below is what the day, the week and the month each hand you, and then everything we have written about the game, arranged around it. There is one input that no clock touches at all, and it is the reason our free-to-play assessment exists as a separate page.

Starting out

The first decision is the one you cannot take back cheaply, and our classes guide is built around a discovery about our own two class pages: the tier list ranks difficulty rather than power, and each of its top five classes turns out to be the winner of exactly one role in our best class guide. Barbarian for damage, Crusader for groups, Necromancer for solo, Monk for PvP, Demon Hunter for PvE, and the Wizard, hardest of the six, named for nothing. If you want every class's skill choices side by side rather than one at a time, best skills is the page that gathers them.

From there the campaign runs through the zones in our regions guide, which sorts them by what each is still worth once the story has moved on. That turns out to run the opposite way to expectation: Wortham is finished the moment you leave, while Mount Zavain holds a boss on a half-hour respawn and the best monster essence farm in the game. Our general tips page is the right companion for the first week.

Fighting things

Our bosses guide takes the four big fights in the order they check your power at the door, from the Countess asking only for a level to Lassal asking for Combat Rating 420 and seven other players. The dungeons guide covers the two dungeons we have walkthroughs for and the rule that governs the whole endgame collection: across all eight Set Items, the slot decides the difficulty tier, with waists and boots at Hell 1, amulets and gloves at Hell 2 and every single ring at Hell 4.

The quests guide handles the three that stop people, sorted by what they ask for that is not combat: a lamp puzzle, a difficulty gate, and ten thousand kills that do not count unless you are in a group. Hidden Lairs are the game's one wandering dungeon, running on a ten-minute window to find the door and a daily cap of three or four gems once you are inside. The endgame overview is where all of it points after level 60.

Gear, gems and money

The items guide ranks all sixteen currencies and materials by how much you have to destroy to make one, which is the shape of the economy the glossaries hide: gold falls off a corpse, Scrap and Dust take one salvaged item, and a ranked Legendary Gem sits at the end of a chain that runs Crest, rift, Runes, Platinum and then other legendary gems fed into it. Two currencies sit outside that chain entirely, and the more interesting of them is Hilts, the one thing in Diablo Immortal that real money cannot buy.

The Jeweler is where most of that resolves, and his menu is worth reading in price order, because socketing and swapping gems are free and most players treat them as though they are not.

The systems underneath

The mechanics guide is the largest thing here and covers forty-three systems in the order of how often each one pays, from the rifts you can run all night through the daily counters and the Monday raids to the two things in the game you genuinely cannot undo. Those two are worth knowing before you trip over them: salvaging is irreversible, and Paragon Points cannot be reset across any of the six trees.

The other half of the endgame is the faction war. Which faction to join compares the Shadows and the Immortals directly, and the choice has a hard constraint attached: a server can only hold five hundred Immortals, while the Shadows have no cap at all.

PvP

Battlegrounds is the only 8v8 mode, and it runs in four two-hour blocks at set hours rather than sitting open all day, so it is the one activity that can shut on you mid-session. Our PvP tier list ranks all six classes for it and puts the Monk on top, agreeing independently with the role pick in our best class guide. PvP tips covers gear swapping, team roles, objectives and movement across the Ancient Arena and Battlegrounds, and there is a free off-hand weapon waiting for every class at Battle Pass Rank 10 that too many players walk past.

Playing without paying

Our free-to-play page is direct about where the line falls: the campaign, dungeons, raids and PvP are all fully playable without spending, and the endgame and competitive PvP are where Eternal Orbs start to tell. The daily routine checklist is the practical counterpart, listing the PvE and PvP dailies, the weekly and monthly tasks and the reset time for every server region.

Settings and fixes

For running the game well, the best settings guide covers graphics, gameplay and control options on both PC and mobile, and controller support covers connecting a gamepad over USB or Bluetooth, which pads work and how to remap them.

When something breaks: low FPS and performance covers requirements, drivers and the settings that actually matter, crashing on iPhone and Android works through requirements, updates, cache and reinstalling, and controller lag covers frame caps, V-Sync and pad choice. Keyboard not working and the Battle.net account merge error are the two more specific ones, and the second is worth reading before you attempt a region transfer rather than after.

Frequently asked questions

When is the daily reset? Three in the morning, by your server's clock, and the figure is the same in every region. Monday handles the weekly rollover and the first of the month handles the leaderboards.

Which class should I start with? The Barbarian if you want the most forgiving one, the Necromancer if you intend to play alone. Our tier list is ranking difficulty, not strength, which is why the Wizard is bottom.

Is Diablo Immortal pay to win? The campaign, dungeons, raids and PvP are all playable free. The pressure arrives at the endgame and in competitive PvP, where Legendary Crests decide how quickly legendary gems arrive.

What is the most valuable thing to do in a week? The Helliquary raids on Monday and Thursday. Two attempts is the entire weekly allowance, and they are what raise the Combat Rating everything else checks.

Where are the set item rings? Behind Hell 4, all sixteen of them, in every one of the eight sets. Lower tiers simply do not roll that slot.
