Liurnia Of The Lakes Region Guide In Elden Ring

Liurnia of the Lakes is the flooded basin north of Stormveil Castle, a shallow lake ringed by cliffs with the Academy of Raya Lucaria standing in the middle of it. It is the largest region in the base game and the one with the most to find: sorcerers' towers sealed by riddles, Caria Manor and the Three Sisters behind it, the Church of Vows, the Four Belfries, and the beginning of the two questlines that shape the ending. Its northern shelf, West Liurnia, is a late-game area of its own.

How to get in and what level to be

The main road runs through Stormveil Castle and out past Godrick's arena. If you would rather not fight Margit yet, a narrow path along the cliffs to the east of the castle gate drops into the lake unopposed; Where To Go After Stormveil Castle covers both. Levels 30 to 60 suit the lake and the Academy, with Rennala comfortable around 40. West Liurnia and the Moonlight Altar are meant for 60 and above, and Glintstone Dragon Adula there is the highest-level boss in the region.

• Academy of Raya Lucaria, the legacy dungeon, entered with the Glintstone Key and holding the Carian Knight set, a Memory Stone and the Graven-School Talisman.
• Caria Manor and the Three Sisters behind it, with the Sword of Night and Flame, the Urumi, Pidia's shop and the rises of Ranni, Seluvis and Renna.
• Catacombs: Black Knife for Rogier's Knifeprint, Cliffbottom for the Kaiden Sellsword, and Road's End for the Spiritcaller Snail.
• Caves: Academy Crystal Cave for the Crystal Staff and Terra Magica, Stillwater Cave for the Winged Sword Insignia, and the Ruin-Strewn Precipice that climbs to the plateau.
• Puzzle towers: Testu's Rise, Chelona's Rise, the Converted Fringe Tower, and the Carian Study Hall that inverts to reach the Divine Tower of Liurnia.
• Churches: Church of Vows for Miriel and absolution, Church of Irith for Thops, Church of Inhibition for Vyke, Rose Church for Varre and Bellum Church for Hyetta.

Miriel, Pastor of Vows at the Church of Vows is the region's spell teacher and the one who accepts every scroll and prayerbook. War Counselor Iji sits on the road up to Caria Manor as the second blacksmith. Thops at the Church of Irith wants the Academy Glintstone Key, Rya waits at the Laskyar Ruins with the invitation to Volcano Manor, Hyetta collects grapes from the Lake-Facing Cliffs onward, Latenna hides in the Slumbering Wolf's Shack, and Nepheli Loux turns up in the Village of the Albinaurics. Behind Caria Manor, Ranni, Seluvis and Blaidd hold court at the Three Sisters, and Pidia sells the Ripple Blade from a manor balcony.

• The Glintstone Key behind Smarag, and the second key inside the Academy for Thops.
• The Academy Scroll near the Lake-Facing Cliffs, the Two Fingers Heirloom in the Purified Ruins cellar and the Fire Monk's Prayerbook at the fire camp in the northwest.
• Several Larval Tears, including the ones that let you respec the moment Rennala is dead.
• The Haligtree Secret Medallion right half from Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics.
• Weapons and ashes: the Sword of Night and Flame, Carian Knight's Sword, Treespear, Frozen Needle, Hoarfrost Stomp near Caria Manor and the Bloodflame Blade incantation by the Rose Church.

Where to go next

Two lifts climb to the Altus Plateau. The Grand Lift of Dectus at the north end of the lake needs both halves of the Dectus Medallion from Fort Haight in Limgrave and Fort Faroth in Caelid, and the Ruin-Strewn Precipice at the northern ravine climbs the same height through Magma Wyrm Makar. The Ainsel River Well in eastern Liurnia leads underground, and Caelid waits to the east for players who skipped it.
