Locations

Getting around the Lands Between is its own skill. The map is enormous, most of it is optional, and the game moves you through it with three kinds of infrastructure: Sites of Grace, which are checkpoints and fast-travel points at once; teleporters, some of which are gifts and some of which are traps; and the landmarks that change the world, such as the star that falls on Limgrave when Radahn dies. This short guide covers the travel systems and the standalone landmark pages on our wiki. Whole regions are covered in the regions guide and individual dungeons in the dungeons guide.

Sites of Grace

A Site of Grace refills your flasks, resets the enemies, lets you level up, change spells, mix your Physick and swap Ashes of War, and once touched can be travelled to from anywhere outside a boss arena. The golden guidance beam from each grace points toward the critical path, which is the only direction the game ever gives you. Our Sites of Grace page maps every one of them, region by region, and the counts alone tell you where the game wants you to spend time.

Graces hidden behind puzzles or inside dungeons are the ones that matter for completion, and the page marks them separately from the roadside ones. Rest often: a rest also clears status build-up and re-arms every trap chest you have not yet opened.

Teleporters and trap chests

Two kinds of teleporter exist. Gateways are stone portals you step through on purpose, and the map has a network of them: the Four Belfries send you to the Chapel of Anticipation, a fragment of Farum Azula and Nokron; the portal at the Purified Ruins and the East Liurnia gateway shorten Liurnia; Renna's Rise drops you into Ainsel River; the Impassable Greatbridge portal saves the ride to Redmane Castle; and the Divine Bridge gateways link Limgrave's Tower of Return to Leyndell. Trap chests are the other kind: open the wrong chest and you are hauled to a distant, over-levelled zone with fast travel disabled until you find a grace. The Dragon-Burnt Ruins chest sends you to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid, the Tower of Return chest to the Divine Bridge in Leyndell, and a chest in Raya Lucaria into the Abductor Virgin basement of Volcano Manor. Teleporters and Traps lists every one of both kinds, and the trap to Volcano Manor is the one worth taking on purpose.

Imp statue seals

Across the map, doorways filled with grey mist and guarded by a squat imp statue mark places the game has locked. Each one opens with a single Stonesword Key, which the statue then keeps, so every door is a spending decision. Behind them sit whole dungeons such as Fringefolk Hero's Grave and Gaol Cave, evergaols such as the Golden Lineage, and small rooms holding talismans, Ashes of War and armor pieces. Imp Statue Seal Locations maps every sealed door on the wiki and what waits behind it, and the Stonesword Keys page ranks which ones repay the key.

Landmarks

Sellia, Town of Sorcery

A sorcerers' town on the shore of the Aeonia swamp in Caelid, full of glintstone loot, invisible enemies and magic barriers. The puzzle is three braziers on the rooftops: light them and the seals across town shatter, opening the Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest boss room, a Stonesword Key door and the path to the Church of the Plague. The Staff of Loss and Lusat's Glintstone Staff are here. Our page walks the rooftops in order.

The Fallen Radahn Star

Kill Starscourge Radahn and a cutscene shows a star falling from the sky. It lands in Mistwood in eastern Limgrave and leaves a crater south of Fort Haight with a hole in its floor; drop in and you are in Nokron, Eternal City, the underground metropolis where the Mimic Tear, the Fingerslayer Blade and the next stage of Ranni's questline wait. Falling Radahn Star marks the crater and what is beneath it.

Cathedral of Manus Metyr

A Shadow of the Erdtree location east of Bonny Village in Scadu Altus, home to Count Ymir and the Finger Ruin of Miyr, and the start of Ymir's questline. The page covers the route from Bonny Village, the NPCs inside and the items on the way.

Elden Ring locations FAQ

How many Sites of Grace are there?

Our map counts more than two hundred and forty across the base game, with Altus Plateau, Mt. Gelmir and Leyndell together holding seventy and Liurnia sixty-three.

Which trap chest is worth opening?

The one in Raya Lucaria that sends you to Volcano Manor, since it is the fastest way to Rya's questline and the manor's shop. The Dragon-Burnt Ruins chest is the one to avoid early; it lands a level-ten character in a Caelid tunnel with a Fallingstar Beast.

How do I get to Nokron?

Defeat Radahn, then ride to the crater the falling star leaves in Mistwood and drop through the hole. There is no other way in.
