Call Of Duty Black Ops 4

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the entry that dropped the single-player campaign and split itself three ways: a Zombies mode with eight maps and two storylines, the Blackout battle royale, and a 5 versus 5 multiplayer built on Specialists and Pick-10 loadouts. Our coverage follows that split. Thirteen map pages walk through every Zombies main quest and Blackout's unlock systems, five pages explain the systems behind a loadout, and two pages cover the gear that carries a Zombies run. This hub tells you where to begin for each mode and links every page we have.

Zombies

Every Zombies map has a main quest with a boss and a reward at the end, and most of them hinge on a Wonder Weapon you build along the way. The maps guide compares all eight by storyline, setting and quest length and ranks them from friendliest to cruelest. The quests, in the order that ranking suggests you try them:

  1. Classified: six steps in the Pentagon and at Groom Lake, ending with the Winter Howl. Needs the Black Ops Pass.
  2. Alpha Omega: an expanded Nuketown, the Rushmore computer and Avogadro, with an Elemental Shard as the prize.
  3. Voyage of Despair: the Titanic, the Sentinel Artifact and the Kraken across eleven steps.
  4. Tag der Toten: the end of the Aether story, plus separate pages for its Pack-a-Punch and Riot Shield.
  5. Ancient Evil: Greek myth, Pegasus and Perseus, and the four God Hands covered in Ancient Evil Wonder Weapons.
  6. Dead of the Night: a haunted mansion with a main quest, the Savage Impaler side quest, a mystery song and free rewards.
  1. IX: the arena of four gods and the quest our writers rate the toughest.
  2. Blood of the Dead: Alcatraz and the longest chain of all, fourteen steps to the Warden.

The gear side lives in the items guide: Wonder Weapons lists where every weapon comes from and how it upgrades, and Talismans explains the single-use boosts you buy with Nebulium Plasma and equip before a match.

Blackout

Blackout stitches series landmarks into one battle royale map. Characters are earned through Character Missions that need a specific item in your inventory and must be finished in the same match, with Merits and Echelon levels tracking your progress; the Character Unlocks page tables every mission. Helicopters spawn by chance at nine helipads from Nuketown Island to Rivertown, all mapped on Helicopter Locations.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is a Pick-10 game: perks, attachments and equipment draw from the same budget, so the mechanics guide starts with the three perk slots and their unlock levels. From there it covers every scorestreak with its COMSEC discount, the ten Specialists and their equipment and weapons, and how Prestige Tokens let you carry one permanent unlock through each reset. The Multiplayer Perks page is the place to start a loadout.

Frequently asked questions

Which Zombies quest is the easiest?

Classified, at six steps, if you have the Black Ops Pass. Without it, Alpha Omega is the quest our page calls fairly simple, and Voyage of Despair's eleven steps are short ones.

Do I have to build Wonder Weapons?

For IX, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil and Blood of the Dead, yes: the quests cannot be finished without them. Parts spawn in one of three nearby spots, and the Wonder Weapons page walks through each build.

How do Prestige Tokens work?

After your first Prestige, each level reset gives you a token that makes one weapon, perk or Specialist ability a permanent unlock. Our Prestige page recommends saving them for high-level guns such as the Swordfish and the VAPR-XKG.

How do I unlock Blackout characters?

Find the character's item, complete its mission in that same match, and keep the item in your inventory until it is done. A handful of skins are tied to Zombies progress or the Blackout Pass rather than a mission. The full table is on Character Unlocks.
