Persona 3 gives you a school year and one hidden hour between days. You spend the daylight building friendships that make your Personas stronger, and the Dark Hour climbing a tower that grows out of your own high school. Everything is on a calendar: bosses arrive on fixed dates, requests expire, and the last decision comes on New Year's Eve. This page arranges our Persona 3 coverage the way a playthrough uses it.
The year, and the fights that punctuate it
Every full moon puts an Arcana Shadow in front of SEES, from Priestess in May at level 10 to Nyx Avatar on the last night of January at level 76. Our bosses guide gives each one its date, its recommended level and the trick that decides it, and our boss list covers the same fights in more detail alongside the three level 99 optional bosses. The final battle is long enough to need its own page, so we broke Nyx down phase by phase.
Climbing Tartarus
Between full moons the tower is where every Shadow lives, and it is barricaded into six blocks that open as the story bosses fall. Our dungeons guide lays out all 264 floors by block, with the date each section opens and every guardian's floor and level, plus the Monad Depths and the dorm objective that sends people looking for a Command Room the game does not have.
Daylight: stats, friends and school
Charm, Courage and Academics gate most of the cast, and the friendships they open are what make fusion affordable. Our mechanics guide covers the social stats and how to farm them, every social link with its unlock and meeting days, the clubs worth joining, the exams, and the gifts that speed a bond along. For the parts people look up on their own, we have separate pages: the full gift lists, the Nozomi social link with its Gourmet King quiz, and every romance option for both protagonists with the ultimate Persona each one unlocks.
Personas and gear
Fusion is the difficulty slider. Our best Personas guide picks six worth building toward, from Thanatos to Metatron, and gives the recipe and signature skills for each, while the Jack Frost with Dia request is the cheapest lesson in skill inheritance you will get. Persona 3 Portable also lets you fuse a Persona into a weapon at the antique shop, which our fusion weapons guide covers, and the wardrobe you unlock along the way is in our outfits guide.
Elizabeth's requests
The Velvet Room hands out around 80 errands, three at a time, and the good ones pay weapons, armor and outfits. Our items guide solves the object hunts and lists what each one gives back, and our quests guide puts the whole request calendar in date order, including the two that ask for something other than an item and the New Year's Eve choice that decides your ending.
Frequently asked questions
How long is Persona 3?
Around 100 hours for a full playthrough, spread over one in-game school year from April to March.
Which ending should I go for?
The true ending, which comes from sparing Ryoji on New Year's Eve. It opens January, the last block of Tartarus and the fight with Nyx. The other ending is a short epilogue best saved for a separate file.
What should I do on a night the tower is barricaded?
Social links, exams and stat activities. The barricade only lifts after the next full moon boss, so the calendar is telling you to spend that time in daylight.
