Elden Ring Lakeside Crystal Cave Walkthrough: Bloodhound Knight
The Lakeside Crystal Cave is a small cave in southern Liurnia of the Lakes whose real prize is on the other side of it. Beat the Bloodhound Knight at its end and the path continues to the Slumbering Wolf's Shack, where Latenna the Albinauric sits beside a sleeping wolf and begins one of the game's longest questlines. Our progression route sends you here early, straight after the Rose Church, and the Great Knife page notes the cave is open the moment Godrick is dead.
Where the Lakeside Crystal Cave is
Rest at the Scenic Isle Site of Grace and head southwest; the cave is cut into the cliffs on that side of the lake, northwest of Stormveil Castle. The shack you are aiming for sits on a cliff on the far side of the cave, and there is no other way to reach it, which is why the Slumbering Wolf's Shack page describes the cave rather than the shack.
Lakeside Crystal Cave walkthrough
The cave is held by Demi-Humans, and they are the only farm inside it. The Great Knife page counts this cave with the group north of the Craftsman's Shack as the two spots to farm the Bandit's starting dagger, at a 2.7 percent chance per 100 Discovery, so eat a Silver Pickled Fowl Foot and rest at the grace between runs. Work your way down; the Smithing Stones guide places a Smithing Stone 4 on the lower levels next to a Smithing Stone 2, an unusual find for a Liurnia cave. The boss room is at the bottom.
Bloodhound Knight
The Bloodhound Knight is the cave's only boss. Our pages do not give a fight guide for this copy of the knight, but they agree on what matters: kill it and follow the path straight on, out of the cave and up to the shack. Inside are a wolf, a girl in blue silver mail and a Site of Grace to light.
Latenna and the Slumbering Wolf's Shack
Latenna will only talk business if you carry the right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, which a disguised pot on the cliff above the Village of the Albinaurics hands over when you hit it. Show her the half and she asks to be taken home; agree and she vanishes into your inventory as the Latenna the Albinauric Spirit Ash. Carrying her to the Apostate Derelict in the Consecrated Snowfield pays a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, and the quests guide covers the other medallion half. Taking the medallion also triggers Ensha's invasion at the Roundtable Hold. There is a crueller shortcut: the Blue Silver Set page notes that killing Latenna in the shack drops all four pieces of her armor at once, at the cost of the spirit and the quest until New Game Plus.

Lakeside Crystal Cave FAQ
Do I need the medallion half before entering the cave?
No. You can clear the cave, light the shack's grace and come back later; Latenna stays put until you bring the half. The dungeons guide lists the shack as its own landmark for that return trip.
