Items

Most of the items worth chasing in Persona 3 are not loot. They are errands. The Velvet Room attendant hands out around 80 requests across the year, many of them asking for one specific object hidden in a school, a shop or a shadow's drop table, and the reward is a weapon, a piece of armor or an outfit you cannot buy. This guide covers the request items our pages solve, sorted by what you get for handing them in, so you can decide which ones are worth the afternoon.

How the requests work

Requests appear in the Velvet Room under the Check Requests option, and you can only hold three at a time, which is what makes the deadlines matter. Whether Elizabeth or Theodore hands them to you depends on the attendant you pick, and the two lists are identical, so nothing is missable by choosing one over the other. Some requests never expire; others are open for a week or less and quietly vanish.

The requests that pay gear

Three of the six hand back something you can equip, and all three are worth doing on schedule rather than whenever you remember.

Pine Resin is the tightest window in the set. The request appears on 30 April, but the resin itself can only be collected on 5/2, because Elizabeth's wording points at the Archery Club and Yukari is the club member who will hand it over. Talk to her at the dorm after school on that date; she sits with the others by the front door. Miss the day and the request cannot be completed at all, though once you have the resin you have until 5/7 to deliver it. The Siren's Song bow is the payout.

Shell of a Man is the opposite, with no deadline at all. From 10 June, head to Gekkoukan during the day and make for the first-floor Laboratory Hallway, where a locked door near the Clubs has voices behind it discussing the very thing you came for. The Anatomical Model inside is the shell in question, and Elizabeth trades it for the Legendary Cleaver.

Triangular Sword runs from 10 May to 6 June and needs one specific evening. On Tuesday 26 May you meet Mitsuru Kirijo after class for the first time; talk to her that evening and ask for the sword, which turns out to be her Fencing Epee. Handing it over earns the Bulletproof Vest.

The requests that pay outfits

The other three swap an object for a costume, which sounds trivial until you realise most of Persona 3's wardrobe is locked behind exactly this kind of errand. Our outfits guide covers the wider set, including what is bought rather than earned.

Beautiful Tile is request 31 and gated behind request 28, the drink that shares Elizabeth's name, so it cannot be started until that one is done. Take the alley behind the station and step into the Mahjong Club, where a stranger will play rock paper scissors with you. It is pure luck, so keep playing until you win and the mahjong tile is yours. Elizabeth trades it for Akihiko's summer outfit, and completing it opens request 38, the sushi errand.

Goggle Eyed Idol is the grindy one, because the only route to it is enemy drops. Farm Shadows in Tartarus until two Turquoise gems drop, then take them to Shinshoudo Antiques, which opens on 6/10, and trade the pair for the idol. Hand it in for Mitsuru's winter outfit.

Sengoku Era Helm is request 61 and asks for your teacher's headwear from the Faculty Room at Gekkoukan. Visiting the office regularly is worth doing anyway for the academic boost. The reward is the Knee-High Maid outfit.

Chains worth knowing

Two more requests in this family are not fetch quests at all: watering the flowers on the school roof, and the drink from the bar. Both live in our quests guide, along with the request calendar for the whole year.

Frequently asked questions

How many requests are there in total?

Around 80 across the year, of which our pages solve the item hunts that give the best rewards. You can only carry three at once, so pick the ones with deadlines first.

Does it matter whether I pick Elizabeth or Theodore?

No. The two attendants give identical requests. The only difference is who you are eventually able to romance, which our romance guide covers.

Which request is easiest to miss?

Pine Resin. It can only be collected on 5/2 from Yukari at the dorm, and there is no second chance if that day passes.
