Santo Ileso hands out its rewards to whoever bothers to look up. Drug pallets sit on rooftops, weather stations glow from tower tops, the best helicopter is parked beside a prison, and the game's oddest cars only exist once you have combed the desert for their parts. This guide gathers our Saints Row collectible and vehicle pages and arranges the Discoveries by territory and district, the way the map itself carves up completion, then covers the transport that gets you to them. The empire, the challenges and the garage that upgrades all of this are in our mechanics guide.
How Discoveries work
Discoveries are the nine kinds of side activity that show up as yellow icons when you pass near them, and every one in a district has to be done for that district to hit 100 percent. None is required to finish the story, so our pages suggest leaving them until the main missions are behind you and then clearing them district by district. Of the nine types, we map drug pallets, weather stations, photo hunts, one Hidden History site and the Lost Wheels here; rooftop access and shooting galleries are in our locations and missions guides.
Drug pallets and weather stations, district by district
Drug pallets appear as a pill icon on the phone and turn up in groups, usually on rooftops, under bridges or in bushes; our page counts 125 of them across the four territories. Weather stations are towers with a yellow orb glowing at the top, visible from a long way off, and several want a helicopter to reach. The table follows the game's territory order.
| Territory | District | Drug pallets | Weather stations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Idols | Monte Vista | 9, some hidden in bushes | 1, on the giant Santo Ileso billboard (helicopter) |
| Idols | Marina West | 6: three on rooftops, the rest under the river bridge | 1, along the river |
| Idols | Marina East | 3, up the stairs to a roof | 1, by the road on the district edge |
| Idols | Old Town West | 3, on top of the warehouse | None listed |
| Idols | Old Town East | 6, on the east side | 1, near the apartments |
| Los Panteros | West Providencia | 10, on buildings and old houses | 1, on a hilltop |
| Los Panteros | East Providencia | None listed | 1, by an old broken house |
| Los Panteros | Mercado | 9: two rooftop batches and one by a painted building | 1 |
| Los Panteros | Smelterville West | 3: a rooftop, behind concrete pipes, on a green container | None listed |
| Los Panteros | Smelterville East | 7: four inside the power plant, three on rooftops | 2: inside the factory and out by a hill |
| Marshall | Lakeshore North | 6: three on rooftops, three by alley dumpsters | None listed |
| Marshall | Lakeshore South | 3, along the river | None listed |
| Marshall | El Dorado | 10: two rooftop batches and one by the cliff and river | 1, on the Horse Feathers building (helicopter) |
| Marshall | West Flats | 6, on buildings | None listed |
| Marshall | East Flats | 3, on buildings | None listed |
| Kavanagh County | Rojas Desert North | 12: under the billboard by the rails, under the wooden bridge, by the river, under the bridge | 3: a steep cliff, a hilltop, a rock gateway |
| Kavanagh County | Rojas Desert South | 9: the cliff edge, the roadside, around the water wheel | 1, in a clearing by a steep cliff |
| Kavanagh County | Badlands North | 10, on cliffs, hills and old rooftops | 2: a mountaintop by an old warehouse, a hillside clearing |
| Kavanagh County | Badlands South | 10: under the rails, around the crashed plane, in the open by the machine | 5, including the fence uphill from the river, the tall buildings and an old house |
Kavanagh County carries the heaviest load in both columns, which is why our Lost Wheels and shooting gallery pages also send you to the desert; plan one long trip out there with a helicopter and clear everything in one pass.
Photo hunts and Hidden History
Photo hunts ask you to frame a landmark with the phone camera until the borders turn green, then press up on the D-pad. Each one pays XP and the full set unlocks the Tourist trophy. Our photo hunt locations page puts the count at 43 and walks through 42 of them, from the Snake Oil Saloon sign on the Old Town East border to the Panther Rock formation behind JimRob's Garage. Some of the spots double as fast travel points, such as the El Dorado welcome arch and the Lone Wolf Motel in Badlands South, which is why the same landmark can carry two icons; our fast travel page explains how to tell them apart.
| Territory | Photo hunt landmarks on our page |
|---|---|
| Kavanagh County | Snake Oil Saloon sign, Thunderpump sign on Rojas Island, Bison Memorial, Tombstone Angel, Rock 66, Badlands Windmill, House Phoenix Dragon, Badlands Watering Hole, Twin Coyotes, Lone Wolf Motel |
| Marshall | The Solar Wind at the MoNIKA building, Coyote Rodeo at CTG Plaza, Dare Street Studios, Lariat Plaza Cowboy, The Third Pillar, Bowling Pin, Old Railroad Water Tower, FB's Burger, Smelters Helmet, Jackpot Wedding Chapel, 10 Gallon Saloon sign, SAD Campus sign, Cactus Bill, El Dorado arch |
| Los Panteros | Boomers sign, Flaming Hot billboard, Milk Carton, Joe Cola Bottle Cap, Jackalope, 66 West On-Ramp Mural, Rattle Snake, Skate Park Grind Rail, Memorial Wall, Barbeque Barn, Panther Rock |
| Idols | Rock Duet, Seal of the City, Mad Cow sign, Monte Vista Market sign, The Messenger, Cactus Mural, La Galleria Fountain |
Hidden History sites work differently: find five boards around one location, then return to the first to close the event. Our El Dorado history boards page covers the one at the Go Kart Go track, where the welcome board sits left of the northern checkpoint, the others ring the main building, parking lot and track-side benches, and the payout is 500 dollars and 300 XP.
Lost Wheels: six cars in 30 parts
Lost Wheels are glinting vehicle parts scattered across the Rojas Desert and the Badlands. Each set of five completes one car and adds a garage slot, so the full 30 unlock six vehicles. Our Lost Wheels page pins each part; the table shows where each set lives so you can sweep a region at a time, and a helicopter is the practical way to reach several of the cliff-top parts.
| Set | Unlocks | Where its five parts are |
|---|---|---|
| Dustlander Buggy | The Ant (an alien variant) | All five in Rojas Desert South: cliffs by the pink-shirted and screaming NPCs, above the vehicles at the wind turbine, the lake shore, and a crane by the warehouse |
| Bony Car | The Heavyweight | Rojas Desert North hill by the tracks and an island in the lake, the Waste Treatment Plant in Rojas Desert South, the Go-Kart car park edge in Badlands South, and a lakeside camp on the western island of Badlands North |
| Tin Foil Car | The Potato | All five in Badlands South: a rock by the billboard and power plant, beside the stranded boat, among the central dirt tracks, a hill above the picnic crossroads, and a pylon on the northwest hill |
| Rocket Car | The Vindicator | All five in Badlands North: a trailer camp and a hill on the southern border, the train tracks mid-road, a northwest hill by the dirt tracks, and the tracks near the northern bridge |
| Naval Car | The Frying Dutchman | All five in Rojas Desert North: the cliff where the road curves by the pond, the northwest viewpoint, a mountain by the northeast lake, the parking lot and the shore of that lake |
| Bandaged Car | The Widowmaker | A hill south of the launcher in Rojas Desert North, a ridge by the industrial plant in Rojas Desert South, a valley wall and a school bus south of the Go-Kart car park in Badlands South, and a cliff on the eastern island of Badlands North |
Getting airborne
The wingsuit is yours the moment the tutorial missions end, but it only opens from height: jump from a rooftop marked with a yellow icon, bail out of a helicopter or aircraft, or use a vehicle with an ejector seat. The game tells you when you are high enough, LT, L2 or Ctrl controls your speed, and landing is where new players lose health, so slow down before concrete. The car-to-wingsuit trick that unlocks vehicle signature abilities is in our mechanics guide.
For a helicopter, our page gives two routes to the standard Thomson: one parked on a helipad on the El Dorado rooftops, or the rocket-firing one that comes with the Saints HQ helipad after the main mission The Forge. JimRob can fit magnets for 7,500 dollars once his missions are open. The superior Tornado only appears near the containers on the north side of the Prison, not every time, so fly a Thomson over, grab one when it spawns, and land it at Saints HQ to save it to your vehicle list permanently.
The VTOL Jet, the MDI-921V with homing missiles and a microwave laser, arrives in the helipad garage after the final story mission, Showdown, roughly 12 to 17 hours in. It can also be stolen from Marshall facilities, where it is heavily guarded and not guaranteed to spawn. A zoomed-in reticle bug is fixed by restarting the game, and the Tax Payer Dollars challenge's 50 barrel rolls are done by climbing high, boosting with Circle or B, then tapping the right bumper three times.
| Action | Helicopter (PS / Xbox) | VTOL Jet (PC / Xbox / PS) |
|---|---|---|
| Ascend | X / A | Space / A / Cross |
| Descend | Square / X | Ctrl / X / Square |
| Primary weapon | R2 / RT | Laser: left mouse / RT / R2 |
| Secondary weapon | L2 / LT | Missiles: right mouse / LT / L2 |
| Steer or change mode | L1 or R1 plus right stick / LB or RB plus right stick | Flight mode: Shift / B / Circle |
| Magnet | R1 / RB |
The Tow Truck
Our Tow Truck page calls it one of the best carnage tools in the game and gives the reliable route: reach Criminal Empire rank 2, build the Wuzyerz Repo venture, and take the truck from the Repo parking lot. Finishing that venture's mission chain adds a second version, and tow trucks also spawn randomly in traffic. How towing itself works, and the 7,500-dollar cable that turns any car into a tow vehicle, is covered in the mechanics guide.
The Idol Collective
The six masked leaders of the Idols are tracked through The Collective, a challenge in the phone's Missions app that opens once The Networking, Neenah's Car, The Dustmoot and Aggressive Recruiting are done. None can be missed; our Idol Collective members guide notes where each one turns up.
| Member | Where you fight them |
|---|---|
| First | At the end of Be Your Own Boss, after rescuing Kevin and Eli at the La Playa party in Marina West |
| Second | At the end of Idol Threat, dropping from a helicopter after you crash the party |
| Third and fourth | Together on the rooftop at the end of Going Overboard, after the yacht and the bomb |
| Fifth | As a district threat after you build any venture in Old Town West |
| Sixth | Driving in from the south road at the end of the Wanted job Litterbugs in the Rojas Desert |
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Discoveries to finish the story?
No. They only count toward 100 percent completion of each district, which is why our pages recommend saving them for after the main missions.
Where is the Tornado helicopter?
By the containers on the north side of the Prison, but not on every visit. Fly there in a Thomson, take the Tornado when it spawns, and land it at Saints HQ so it joins your vehicle list.
Which district has the most drug pallets?
Rojas Desert North with 12, followed by West Providencia, El Dorado, Badlands North and Badlands South with 10 each.
Why will my wingsuit not open?
It cannot be triggered from the ground. Jump from a yellow-marked rooftop, an aircraft or an ejector seat, and wait for the game's prompt that you are high enough.
