Six women in San Andreas will date Carl, and only two of them walk into the story on their own. The rest have to be found, and each one wants a different version of CJ: one likes him thin, two like him heavy, one needs him to have been to the gym. What they pay out is not romance but equipment, because a relationship at 100 percent unlocks an outfit and a car, and in two cases something considerably more useful than either.

The Two Rewards That Actually Matter
Most of these unlocks are cosmetic. Two are not. Katie Zhan's reward means that when Carl is wasted he keeps his weapons instead of losing the lot at the hospital door, which over a long playthrough is worth more than any car on the list. Helena's is more immediate: while you are dating her, her tool shed is open, and inside it sit a flamethrower, Molotovs and a pistol, free, forever.
Millie's reward is not a reward at all but a plot device. Her keycard is what gets the crew into Caligula's Palace, which is why our Millie Perkins guide treats her separately from the other five: she is the one relationship the story requires you to start. That guide puts the keycard at 35 percent progress and notes that once it is in hand you can keep dating her or dispose of her, which is a choice the other five never offer.
How Dating Works
Our Millie guide sets out the system in full and it applies to all six. Interested women carry a blue marker; walk up and Carl can try his luck. Rejection is not permanent, and the woman will tell him what is wrong, usually his clothes, his weight or his car, so a rejection is a shopping list. Sex appeal makes all of this easier, which is why the oysters scattered around the map matter to this side of the game more than to any other.
A date is a meal, a dance or a drive, and each woman has a taste in all three. Get the venue or the driving speed wrong and the date fails, taking progress with it. Get it right and the meter moves, with a successful date worth about five percent and one that ends back at her place worth double. Gifts and kisses push it along, badly timed kisses push it back, and shooting your date ends the relationship about as you would expect.
Do You Need Them For 100 Percent?
This is where accounts differ, and it is worth being precise. Our own Millie guide says she is the one girlfriend who counts toward completion, while several outside guides say dating is not part of the 100 percent checklist at all. Both can be read as true: Key to Her Heart is a story mission, so Millie is unavoidable, whereas nobody has to take Barbara to a diner. Can CJ date more than one at a time?
Yes. All six can be dated at once, and the only practical limits are their opening hours, which overlap badly, and the fact that each will only see him once a day.
