Items
There is no weapon in this bucket, no armour and nothing you equip. Every one of these twenty-four pages is about a key, and the interesting question is always what it opens. Artifacts open arena doors. Eggs open creatures the game will not let you tame by any other route. Milk keeps the thing that came out of the egg alive long enough to matter. And one item in here is a key you can only forge out of the door you opened last time.
Artifacts, and the three-or-eleven rule
Nine of these pages are artifact catalogues, one per map, and they are unusually trustworthy: eight of them state a total in the opening line and every single one of those eight delivers exactly that number. Lined up, they reveal something no individual page mentions.
| Map | Artifacts | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Crystal Isles | 18 | The Brute in the Swamp Biome, and underwater finds at the White Shoals |
| Lost Island | 11 | Full cave routes, including the Dinopithecus King tribute set |
| The Center | 11 | The underwater Brute at 66.9, 88.8 and the Clever in the North Mountain caves |
| Ragnarok | 10 | The Brute in Fallen Redwood Cave, the Strong in the Monkey Temple ruins |
| Valguero | 10 | The Crag cave at 33.5, 51.7 |
| The Island | 10 | Brute, Hunter and Skylord among them, all in guarded caves |
| Aberration | 3 | Depths at 51.2, 23.8, then Shadows and Stalker |
| Extinction | 3 | Void in the Ice Cave, Chaos in the Desert Cave, Growth in the Forest Cave |
| Scorched Earth | 3 | Crag, Destroyer and Gatekeeper |
There is no middle. A map has either three artifacts or ten and up, and the three that have three are Aberration, Extinction and Scorched Earth, which are exactly the three story expansions. The sandbox maps inherit the Island's full set and hand you ten or eleven; the narrative maps hand you a bespoke trio built for one boss. Crystal Isles is the outlier at eighteen, because it stacks its own additions on top of the inherited collection rather than replacing them.
The practical consequence is worth planning around. On a story map the artifact hunt is a short, purposeful job and each one is likely to be needed. On Crystal Isles, most of what you collect is not for the local boss at all.
The Island roundup is also the page that maps artifacts to the doors they open, and the assignment is consistent with what the boss pages ask for: the Clever, Hunter and Massive summon the Broodmother, the Brute, Devourer and Pack summon the Megapithecus, and the Cunning, Immune, Skylord and Strong go to the Dragon. Ten keys, three doors, no overlap. Our bosses guide is where they get spent.
Eggs: the creatures you are not allowed to tame
Nine pages cover eggs, and they exist because for three creatures the game simply removes the normal route. You cannot knock out an adult Wyvern, a Rock Drake or a Magmasaur and feed it into submission. You steal an egg and raise what hatches, which turns a taming problem into a burglary followed by a nursery.
Wyvern eggs are documented on six maps and the elemental variants are split by geography in a way worth learning. Scorched Earth keeps Fire, Poison and Lightning together in the World Scar nests at 63.5, 22.6, and suggests a Tapejara or Oviraptor for the getaway. Ragnarok follows the same pattern, with those three in the Dragonmalte Trench at 27.2, 69.8 and Ice held separately up in the Treacherous Tundra.
Valguero stacks them vertically instead, with Ice nests on the surface of the Wyvern Trench at 07.6, 78.9 and Fire in the lava cave underneath at 11.5, 70.9. Lost Island splits them between a snow biome cave at 33.1, 41.4 and the volcano border at 24.5, 60.3. Fjordur does the most thematic version, putting Fire on the main map at 90.6, 72.2 and then scattering Lightning into Asgard, Poison into Vanaheim and Ice into Jotunheim, so collecting the full set means visiting every realm. And Crystal Isles is the odd one out entirely, since its Crystal Wyverns come in Blood and Ember varieties from the Wander's Hope nests near 76.6, 41.4.
The other two egg types are more dangerous than fiddly. Rock Drake eggs sit in nests under Element Falls at 62.0, 41.4 and two nearby spots, and a Hazard Suit is not optional. Fjordur has its own Rock Drake nest in a radioactive cave at 41.8, 49.2 in Asgard near the Red Obelisk, where the escape is the hard part. Magmasaur eggs are in the Magmasaur Cave at 95.6, 80.1, past the Fire Wyvern Trench, and our page's advice is simply to bring a Rex or a Giganotosaurus.
Milk: the key with a shelf life
A hatched Wyvern will not eat meat, which makes Wyvern Milk the only thing standing between a successful egg theft and a dead baby. Both our pages agree on how to get it, by trapping and knocking out a wild female, or by killing an Alpha Wyvern, which the Scorched Earth page notes drops fifty bottles at once.
The detail that makes milk different from everything else in this bucket comes from the Valguero page: it has to be used within thirty minutes. Every other key here waits patiently in a storage box. This one is on a timer from the moment you take it, which is why the sensible order is egg first, milk second, and never the reverse.
Notes, a mech, and a workshop
Genesis Part 2 supplies the bucket's collectibles. There are two separate note sets, and both are long: 46 HLNA notes running from Sam's Garden through to Rockwell's Innards, and 30 Nida notes starting at the Stormgrove Slopes at 18, 71. Seventy-six pickups on one map, each paying experience and a buff.
The Mega Mek is the cleverest item in the bucket and the clearest illustration of the whole theme. You build it by combining four Meks with the M.O.M.I., and the M.O.M.I. is dropped by the Beta King Titan. Its only purpose is fighting the Alpha King Titan. It is a key made out of the previous door, usable only on the next one.
Finally, Genesis Part 2 structures is the one page here that behaves like a normal equipment guide, covering the Ammo Box, the Egg Incubator, the Exo-Mek and the Tek Bow with crafting costs and engram requirements. Given how much of this bucket is about hatching things, an Egg Incubator is arguably the most useful entry on it.
Where the keys come from and go
Artifacts live at the ends of caves, which our locations guide maps out, and they are handed over at the obelisks covered there too. The materials for everything else are in resources, the creatures guarding the nests are in creatures, and the wiki hub sorts the lot by map.
Frequently asked questions
Which map has the most artifacts?
Crystal Isles, with eighteen. Lost Island and The Center follow on eleven each, while Aberration, Extinction and Scorched Earth have only three apiece.
Can I tame a Wyvern instead of stealing an egg?
No. Wyverns, Rock Drakes and Magmasaurs all have to be raised from stolen eggs, which is the reason nine of these pages exist at all.
How long does Wyvern Milk last?
Thirty minutes, per our Valguero page, so collect it after you have the egg rather than before. Killing an Alpha Wyvern gives you fifty bottles in one go, which is the efficient route.
Do I need the Mega Mek?
Only for the Alpha King Titan, and you cannot build it until the Beta King Titan has already dropped the M.O.M.I. it needs, so it is a step in that sequence rather than a shortcut through it.
