Ark Extinction Gasbags Location and Taming Guide

Gasbags are the newest and best support creatures in Ark Extinction. With heavy weight, the creature increases speed as you level it up and goes extremely well while flying. Whether playing on PVP or PVE, this should be on your taming list.

Now, with everything said, let’s break into the locations of Gasbag in Ark Survival Ascended DLCs and ways to tame and breed it to multiply the benefit.

How to Tame a Gasbag?

Once you find the gasbag you want to tame, put down four or five dinosaur gateways, but leave a gap in between. If you attack the gasbag, it will aggro you, but not for long. Lure the creature toward the trap, and once it’s close, shoot it to grab the attention.

Bring rare flowers just in case they aggro at the last minute or to stay safe from the creatures in the surroundings.

After you knock out the Gasbag, use Mejoberries or Superior Kibble in its inventory. It will take some time, and your creature will be tamed. Equip the gasbag with a saddle to ride.

Put defenses like spikes around the gasbag during the taming process as it will be a dangerous area.

Gasbag Saddle

You must be at level 43 and have 6 Engram Points to unlock Gasbag Saddle. The following materials are required to craft the saddle:

• 150x Chitin, Keratin, or Shell Fragment
• 185x Fiber
• 350x Hide

Gasbags only spawn in Extinction and Genesis. One thing to note is that they always appear surrounded by dangerous things and in areas near the corrupted dinosaurs.

Ark Extinction Gasbag Location

Gasbags can be found around Wastelands outside the city and in Sulphur fields. Note that there is no exact location for their spawn, but you can easily spot them wandering in dangerous areas.

Ark Genesis Part 1 Gasbag Location

In Genesis Part 1, the gasbags are found in the caves on the western side of Truth and the Base of the Ancient areas.

Ark Genesis Part 2 Gasbag Location

Gasbags can frequently spawn on the western edges of Skyreach Summit, near the waters at Norfall River West, and in different areas of S.U.M.P in Genesis Part 2. You can also look for the creature in Castle Sector and Echo Sector.

How to Breed Gasbags in Ark Extinction?

After you have tamed both male and female gasbags and kept them nearby, go to their radial wheel and choose the Enable Wandering option.

After enabling this option, whistle until the mating process is complete. Remember, if you stop whistling, they will stop mating. Once the mating process is complete, they will jump, and this is when you can disable wandering and wait until the gestation process is complete.

Gasbags don’t lay eggs, but give birth to babies, so make sure you have some food like berries ready to feed them.

Gasbag Respawn Command

Now, if you’re finding it hard to locate Gasbags in Extinction, you can always rely on the respawn command. For this, do the following steps:

1. Open the console command box by pressing TAB on the PC. If playing on PlayStation, press and hold the L1, R1, Square, and Triangle keys together. Lastly, press and hold LB, RB, X, and Y together if you’re on Xbox.
