Locations

Most towns in Solistia sell the same shape of inventory: a weapon shop, an armour shop, an inn and a tavern. The places worth a special trip are the ones with stock nobody else carries, and at the moment our wiki has one such place, which happens to be the best example of the type.

The Black Market

The Black Market is new to the sequel and it does not exist for two thirds of the day. Head for the New Delsta Flats in the Brightlands, the open ground just beyond the Abandoned Village, which is a stretch of road you have probably already walked through on the way to Cape Cold.

Arrive during daylight and there is nothing there. Switch to night with the shoulder button, leave the village and take a right, and you find tables, barrels and a large chest along with the traders. Four vendors run stalls at any given time, one per category, and the set changes randomly every night: armour and accessories, Soulstones and bottles, weapons with armour and concoction ingredients, and general items.

That rotation is the whole mechanic. Because you can never see all four categories on the same night, the market rewards checking in repeatedly, and the fastest way to reshuffle it is to flip the clock to day and straight back to night rather than waiting. If a specific stall is what you came for, that trick turns a multi-night wait into a few seconds.

What people actually come here for

The prices are high, which is the market's stated trade-off, so this is somewhere to arrive with money already in hand rather than somewhere to browse. Two purchases in particular send players here from elsewhere on the wiki.

Soulstones are the first. They are the reliable answer to the high evasion of Caits and Octopuffs, because magic damage cannot be dodged, and they are also on the shopping list for the Inventor's Elemental Bomb Bottle. The second is the Nun merchant's Bottled Nightmares at 3,000 leaves each, which are what make grinding for Battle-Tested weapons survivable.

Filling your pockets before the trip is the standing advice, and farming Caits is the fastest way to do it. Our money farming guide covers the rest, and the NPCs guide compares what each rare encounter pays.
