Throughout the course of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, you will come across tough foes who can be considered as the game’s equivalent to bosses. One of these strong foes is a giant named Golyat.
The fight with Golyat is the first major battle that players engage in Blood and Wine. It occurs as a part of The Beast of Toussaint main quest and triggers soon after Geralt comes in Toussaint.
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Golyat Boss Guide
After the fight starts, there is no need to worry about three Toussaint knights trying to take on Blood and Wine Golyat – they cannot die. Instead of directly heading into the battle, you should try and take some time learning his moveset.
Golyat has a wind whirl attack which damages all character standing near it. If you are standing behind it, it will execute a sweeping attack which will knock you back. In addition to this, it also launches a pounding attack which creates a shockwave and can easily stun or knock you back.
While trying to take on Blood and Wine Golyat, do note that Quen is your friend in this fight. If you are equipped with Light Armor, you should be able to spam Quen, close in the gap, get a few hits, and then retreat. In addition to this, Ogre Oil helps a ton in this fight.
Golyat’s attacks are slow and well telegraphed so you should have no difficulty avoiding them. I recommend rolling away from the wind whirl attack and dodging the rest. The knights who will help you during the fight deal considerable amount of damage as well.
