Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild House House Buying Guide

In Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players have the option to buy a house for Link to stay in and rest when he is not adventuring.

Buying the house is totally an optional thing which is why the game doesn’t have a quest or some message that would lead the players to where they can buy the house from.

Which House to Buy

The only known house for sale is in Hateno Village, near the back end of the village when you reach West Necluda.

If players go to the area, they will see three NPC, Bolson, Karson and Hudson, working on a broken down house.

Players can talk to Bolson and purchase the house if they have right amount of money.

The house price can be further dropped if players are willing to contribute 30 bundles of wood otherwise it will cost the players 3000 rupees.

Chopping down wood isn’t very difficult so players should go for this option instead of spending a huge amount on buying the house.

All they need to do is grab an axe and start cutting down any trees they come across.

To make up the rest of the money, stones and gems acquired while adventuring can be sold to various vendors.

Once players have the funds and 30 bundles of wood, they can go back to the house and purchase it, giving them a place to rest at.

Once the house has been bought it can be furnished as well with the help of Bolson but you will have to pay 100 rupees per furnishing item.

You can furnish the house with the following items:

  • A bed
  • Three bed mounts
  • One door
  • One flower
  • One lighting
  • Three shield mounts
  • One sign
  • One tree
  • Two weapon mounts

The total of this will cost you 1400 rupees but will also result in completion of the quest and your reward will be the ability to heal up anytime by sleeping in your own house.

This house will also help you complete the “under the shrine quest” easily as you have to wait for the blood moon.
