%%excerpt%% Microsoft has promised Dolby Vision support for Xbox One S and Xbox One X and now it is avaialble for the insiders to test out ths feaure.

Microsoft has promised Dolby Vision support for Xbox One S and Xbox One X. Now, Microsoft has made available the Dolby Vision HDR support for testing on Xbox One.

Insiders are now able to test the Dolby Vision support for the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. However, the Dolby Vision support is only applicable for video streaming.

If you want to test out the Dolby Vision support for Xbox One S and Xbox One X then first make sure you have a “compatible TV by going on your Xbox to the 4K TV Details page under Settings.”

Now you need to enable the Dolby Vision by going to “Settings -> Display and sound -> Video output -> Video modes -> Allow Dolby Vision.” Now open Netflix and select Dolby Vision enabled content and start testing it.

Dolby Vision transforms your TV experience with ultravivid picture quality — incredible brightness, contrast, and color that bring entertainment to life before your eyes. When compared to a standard picture, Dolby Vision can deliver colors never seen before on a screen, incredible contrast, highlights that are up to 40 times brighter, and blacks that are 10 times darker.

However, this is not the only feature that Microsoft has promised for Xbox One S and Xbox One X as Freesync support is also coming to the console.

Currently, Insiders have access to the Freesync support and Microsoft has noted that it will available to everyone by the end of 2018.

Freesync allows players to play games at a variable frame rate without any tearing provided that the display supports the Freesync.

This will be the first time for a console to support such a feature and also makes sense for the Xbox One as the console features AMD manufactured APU as Freesync is an AMD exclusive feature.

As for the how good the Freesync works on the console, tests have revealed variable results depending on the game.

Speaking of Freesync and it being an AMD exclusive feature, you can trick an Nvidia GPU to use Freesync. However, this trick currently works for World Of Warcraft.

While Microsoft is bringing such features to Xbox One X but according to devs, Xbox One X CPU is a “Bottleneck” and would love to see the CPU upgraded.
