Bloodborne is indeed a hard one and its unfriendly systems add to it. For instance, most starters may feel at unease regarding the game’s character leveling system.

Bloodborne Leveling – How to Level Up Fast
In case you are stuck somewhere early in the game and wondering how to level up; you have come to the right place.
Our guide not only outlines how to start leveling up your character but also details a few methods to power level or level your character up fast.
Bloodborne – How to Level Up Character
So first things first, how do you level up your character in Bloodborne? Unfortunately, you cannot do so until you have reached a particular boss arena (Cleric Beast) or acquired an item called Madman’s Knowledge.
Both the things mentioned rewarding your character with 1 Insight Point. An Insight Point, for some reason, is required to summon the Doll in Hunter’s Dream – the Doll which levels your character up.
For the sake of this guide, I’m outlining the easiest path to reach the Cleric Beast arena. You do not necessarily need to kill the boss to acquire Madman’s Knowledge – just reach the area using the steps below:
Take the initial pathway from the Central Yharnam and across the bridge to come across a Henchman. Deal with the Henchman and jump down from the opposite side of where he was standing.
After arriving in the area, do not wait to kill any beast and dash towards the large gate. On the left side of the gate, go up a few steps near the bonfire and through a small tunnel. After emerging out, kill a Brick Brute ramming a gate, a Henchman, and some Hounds.
Keep on moving forward and you will see a few Netherbeasts wandering on the bridge. Do not engage, run past another Henchman on the left side, and into a dark room down some steps. You will have to fight a couple of Henchmen in this area.
Once you are done with the Henchmen, lure Netherbeasts outside to the edge of the dark room – they are too big to fit in. At this point, use any weapon to kill them before moving forward.
After killing the Netherbeasts, come out on the bridge once again and keep moving down to meet a Brick Brute and a few Crazed Crows. Do not pay them any heed and head towards the boss arena.
You can either kill Cleric Beast using our Bloodborne Cleric Beast Boss Guide or let him kill you and acquire an Insight Point before heading to the Doll in Hunter’s Dream and leveling up.
Early Game Power Leveling Method
Now that you know how to level up your character, I’m going to share a few methods to help you Power Level your character, earn Blood Echoes, and so much more.
To begin, go to the Hunter’s Dream and to the Doll. From there, go to the Unseen Headstone and travel to Yahar’gul, Unseen Village. This area automatically unlocks after you wake up in prison.
Once you arrive in the area, you will see a couple of tall-bag-carrying enemies (I cannot recall their names) who can annihilate your character only with a couple of hits. What you need to do is to move around the area a little and go down the spiral stairway – not all the way down.
Stand near the stairway and you will see that the tall monsters are a tad too tall to fit through the stairway. Here you need to transform your weapon using L1 and kill both monsters.
After this, go down the stairway to reach the prison. You need to be extra careful in the area as there are a couple of enemies lurking in the area who can kill your character in an instant. Once you deal with the two enemies, head to the prison and you will see another couple of the same tall-bag-carrying-enemies.
Let them see you and let them follow you all the way back to where you entered the area. You will, once again, see that they are too tall to fit through the small doorway – kill them too.
After you have killed all four tall-bag-carrying enemies, get killed by a werewolf in the prison and repeat the entire process. If you do not see your Blood Echoes on the location of your demise, kill the enemy with the glowing purple eyes to retrieve them back.
Early Game Power Leveling Method #2
For the second method, you need to go to Central Yharnam and go through the large metal gates in front of you – note that they can only be opened from the other side.
Go down the twin stairway and head inside the house directly in front of the stairway. Once you are inside the house, kill everything including the dude sitting on a wheelchair. Go up the steps and clear the upper portion of the house as well.
For the next section, come out of the house (using the exit on the upper floor) and kill four enemies standing near the foggy entrance. Once this is done, go to the werewolves on the other side of the pathway and lure them to the entrance of a dark room down the steps on the left side.
The werewolves are too big to enter the dark room. You need to kill the werewolves and return to Hunter’s Dream followed by repeating the process.
We will keep on updating more ways to Power Level in days to come. If you are aware of some, do make sure to let us know.
