What is Pokerus Virus and How to Get Pokerus Virus
In Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Pokerus is essentially a virus but not exactly a harmful one. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon Pokerus is capable of affecting all types of Pokemon that doubles the Effort Value (EVs) acquired after each battle. Therefore, this incredibly useful virus can help you make your Pokemon stronger. However, one important thing to note here is that Pokerus is not easy to come by. A Pokemon infected with Pokerus should have a violet symbol next to ‘Pokerus’ written on it.
How to Use Pokerus on Pokemon
Pokerus has a chance to spread to other Pokemon in your party after a battle. Not only adjacent Pokemon but even the Pokemon Eggs can also get infected with it. However, a Pokerus-carrier cannot get infected one more time. On top of that, the Pokerus virus does not stay indefinitely. Under normal circumstances, Pokerus disappears after 1-4 in-game days. Your affected Pokemon has a chance to be cured every midnight.
A Pokemon that previously had Pokerus will now have a smiley symbol instead of a violet symbol. It is important to note that even after Pokerus disappears, the increased EV gains that it provides does not. The nurse at the PokeCenter will tell you about the Pokerus after you catch it for the first time. As mentioned earlier, the Pokerus virus usually disappears after 1-4 in-game days, the time varies from virus to virus.
However, you can keep the infected Pokemon in the PC Box to delay the curing process. Doing so should allow you to have a little more time to spread it to other Pokemon. And given its benefits, you should definitely consider spreading the virus to as many Pokemon as you possibly can. The best possible way of acquiring Pokerus, on the other hand, is by trading Pokemon with your friends and other online people using the Global Trade Stations. The method is definitely a whole lot better and efficient than trying to acquire it from a Wild Pokemon.
