Pokemon Sword and Shield Postwick Walkthrough

You will have a nice introduction with stylish Rose and the Champion Leon in this part of the game. After that we will get back to the same old scheduled Pokemon introduction by going to mom’s home.

You will meet your rival Hop in your living room; he’ll practically burst out along with Wooloo and ask you to come with him to go meet his brother, who is the current champion we formerly mentioned.

You have to go right and interact with the bag present there next to the bed and start your adventurous journey officially. You will also obtain a hat.

When you get outside Wooloo will try to roll into a locked gate and then Hop will scold it to not go into the forbidden woods.  There is only one more house in the town, follow Hop there by going into the opening on the right side.

When you get there you will meet Hop’s mother and she will inform you the Leon hasn’t arrived yet. After that, you will agree to go to Wedgehurst where Leon’s train will arrive.

You have to follow Hop to Wedgehurst, he will require you to walk in a straight path and as you are a beginner so you have no Pokemon to fight with.

You will then listen to Leon’s speech among the crowd and you will come to know that Leon is a cool guy. After that you will be transported back to Postwick.

Leon is cool because he will bring along three starter Pokemon and you get to choose first as Hop already has his Loyal Wooloo by his side. You need to think about this one, as this is the Pokemon that will stick with you for the rest of your journey so make an informed decision of which starter Pokemon to pick. These three starter Pokemon are:

Grookey

  • Type: Grass
  • Strengths: Water, Ground, Rock
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug

Scorbunny

  • Type: Fire
  • Strengths: Grass, Ice Bug, Steel
  • Weaknesses: Water, Ground, Rock

Sobble

  • Type: Water
  • Strengths: Fire, Ground, Rock
  • Weaknesses: Grass, Electric

Keep in mind that Hop will pick the Pokemon that your Pokemon is the strongest against. Simply putting it is:

  • In case you pick Grookey, Hop will pick Sobble.
  • In case you pick Scorbunny, Hop will pick Grookey.
  • In case you pick Sobble, Hop will pick Scorbunny.

These Pokemon will be your lifelong partners and after you have picked them you will see the village enjoying a nice BBQ and only God knows what meat they are easting.

The next day and Leon will put you up against your best friend even though you have only spent a day with your Pokemon.

Hop has two Pokemon to fight with which will be Wooloo and his starter Pokemon. Your starter Pokemon will be very effective against the one Hop has picked.

Wooloo
This is a new pokemon introduced in the game

  • Level: 3
  • Moves: Tackle
  • Type: Normal
  • Category: Sheep Pokemon

When you have defeated Wooloo, you would get your first type-attack and level up.

When you are done with your fight with Hop and have defeated him, Leon will inform you that you have to go to an incredibly dangerous and adventurous journey across the whole region.

When you will be going towards your house you will see that Wooloo has successfully bashed through the locked door and gone into the Slumbering Weald and you have to go rescue it.
