New God Of War Patch Comes Just Before Game’s Release Date

A new God of War patch has been released for Sony Santa Monica’s upcoming game, which releases tomorrow on the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro. The patch seems to just be a fairly small one, and mainly focuses on various quality of life improvements, though there might be more we don’t know about.

The changes that we know about that are coming in the God of War patch are fairly simple. Subtitles, for instance, will now tell players who is speaking in order to help with context in conversations. here’s also been some balancing in the game’s economy, in the case of hacksilver and XP, which you’ll be using to likely upgrade your weapons and skills.

Other changes include enemy difficulty tuning to make that more balanced, and a number of other bug fixes and improvements.

While God of War went gold around a month ago, meaning that it was essentially completed and ready to ship, Sony Santa Monica is likely taking advantage of the day one patch to slip in various things that they think could improve the game, the same way that many developers do these days. Thankfully so far God of War reviews appear to think that the game is mostly free of any really noticeable bugs, and that the game is amazing.

Considering how different that this God of War is from previous entries in the franchise, it’s a good thing that the game has apparently gotten all the right things down when it comes to bugs. The third-person over-the-shoulder gameplay works well, the Leviathan Axe and Kratos’s new shield are a good combo, and the new setting seems great.

If you can find more notes about the new God of War patch yourself, feel free to tell more about what else it fixes. In the meantime, God of War comes out tomorrow for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro.
