Monster Hunter: World Dragonite Ore Farming

Like many other resources, the Dragonite Ore can be used in upgrading Weapons, Armor, and Augmentation Jewels for better results.

The primary source for collecting these is via mining outcrops which blue-black crystals that you can find in a few locations. The best spots for this resource is the Rotten Vale, especially Areas 10 onwards, Sectors 8, and Sector 15 in Coral Highlands.

Once you have exhausted the resources in these areas in your first go, exit the zones and re-enter for Dragonite Ore to respawn again. Keep exploring these two regions for extracting the resources from the nodes.

Where to Farm?

Some quests, when completed, have a chance that they may award you with Dragonite Ore. Alternatively; some monsters when put down will also drop Dragonite Ore as loot. For quests, the list is given below:

As mentioned previously, some monsters are also capable of dropping Dragonite Ore as loot drops.

They can be either of two: Zorah Magdaros which on a low-level or high-level will have a likelihood of dropping the resource between 55% and 60%. The second monster Gajau only has a 15% chance of dropping the ore upon being defeated.

Using the Dragonite Ore

The material is used in almost all weapons when it comes to upgrading them.

The quantity for upgrading them varies from 2 in smaller weapons like those that Steel Knife and Iron Demon to 5 Dragonite Ore required for the likes of Thunder Hammer, Dual Slicers, and Iron Grace.

Finally, the high-level weapons like the Chrome-series: Razor, Slicer, etc. and other ones like Perfected Alloy Axe and Cross Blitz require the highest number of Dragon Ore resources i.e. 10.

When it comes to the armor, there are also various ones that utilize this resource. This also includes the PS-exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn robotic armor as well as a bunch of others requiring up to 8 Dragonite Ore.

Lastly, you have Defense, Geology, Guard, Heavy Artillery, and Capacity Charms. Dragonite Ore can only upgrade these jewels.
