Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Crashes, Missing Content, Server, Dev Errors and Fixes

Here are some basic fixes for the most frequent problems with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare like connection issues, crashes and missing content.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now out. However, its release doesn’t come without problems like connection issues, crashes, and black screens. Players have reported not being able to connect to the game, having their game crash through the campaign and content missing from their copy.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Launch Issues With Possible Fixes

We’ve compiled a list of all the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare connection issues, crashes and more, along with some popular fixes that might get your game up and running. If those don’t help, then consider sending a support ticket to Infinity Ward, for more personalized solutions.

Modern Warfare crashing on every mode
Right now, you’ll find hundreds of players claiming that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is crashing on their Playstation 4 or Xbox One. It seems that the issue persists for Multiplayer, the Campaign, and even in the game lobby.

Since the crashes appear on consoles, we can’t really give you a definite fix. Infinity Ward encourages players to send their Gamertags to the support so that they can investigate more. In reality, the issue will be fixed when the developers roll out a patch, which they are currently working on.

It’s a matter of time before it happens so stay patient and it most likely will be out today. Until then, you can restart your console or PC and check for updates and make sure that your system isn’t overheating.

With a game of such “demands”, it might be the temperature that causes your crashes and it can be solved with a graphics downgrade or a few minutes without power to cool off.

PC Version General Errors
This is a general category of issues happening in the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Such errors could be black screens, sound errors, or crashes. The game is being hosted on Blizard’s Battle.net platform.

Interestingly, Blizzard offers a Repair function that can solve many known issues that are connected to a faulty installation. If your issues persist, then try checking your drivers so that they are up to date.

Your last resort will be restarting your PC and checking if the issues have subsided. For all non-system issues, we expect Infinity Ward to release a patch soon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Online Connection Issues
During the past 12 hours, players were experiencing severe connection errors with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare servers. Infinity Ward announced that the issue is caused due to a large amount of players logging into the game.

Right now, the servers are back online, with only a few players still being locked out. If this issue persists on your platform as well, make sure that you do have a stable connection and that there’s nothing downloading in the background. On PC, make sure to check your firewall settings so that they don’t deny access to the servers.

Modern Warfare Missing Pre-Order Content
Much like many other similar titles, Modern Warfare offers pre-order bonuses in the form of a code. That means you won’t automatically get your loot when you install the game. You can head to callofduty.com/redeem and input the code on your receipt to obtain the items.

If you don’t have the receipt, please contact your retailer to fix the issue as Infinity Ward won’t be able to assist you further. The digital edition of Modern Warfare will grant you one Prestige Token which can be found in the Progress and Unlocks tab within the Multiplayer menu.

Last but not least, the Reserve Cases loot that comes with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Operator Enhanced Edition can be found within the Black Market, under reserves.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare DEV ERROR 6065
This issue is currently a common one for PC and is related to your DirectX and GPU drivers. For starters, what you can do is update your Nvidia or AMD drivers.

For Nvidia, you’ll find full optimization for the game available now, so go ahead and complete the update and check if it runs correctly. You might have to redo the procedure before it works, as some players point out.

If it doesn’t, you should update your DirectX drivers as well. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be incompatible with your current ones. If both those fixes don’t work, then you have to wait for a patch to launch and fix them for you.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare DEV ERROR 5759
Another GPU related issue that could easily be fixed under certain circumstances. Players have reported that disabling their Intel graphics support or unplugging a second monitor to make the issue go away. This is a fluid error and everyone seems to have their own fix for it.

Some close any other program running, some update drivers or disable the fast boot on their PCs. Make sure to run a repair through Battle.net and update your GPU drivers, as this seems to be the main fix for most.

Multiplayer lag in Modern Warfare
If you’re experiencing stuttering and delays in targeting, you could be having issues with your connectivity. You run a speed test to check your connection speed and if it’s not optimal, consider switching to Ethernet. If you already are connected via Ethernet, then you can check your router settings and prioritize your platform’s connection above all else.

These are the most common issues found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare right now. Within the next days, if not hours, Infinity Ward will have fixed most major bugs and crashes so be patient. We know that buying a game and not being able to play it at its 100% is a bummer, however, with the number of new players and its requirements, issues are bound to appear.
