AC Valhalla’s quest, “A Rivalry for Ages,” demands you to retrieve a Roman Legionnaire statue from Maximilian. He will not give you the statue, so you need to steal it from his house; this side quest is a part of Lunden Mysteries. Once you reach Lunden, you need to retrieve the statue from Maximilian’s house. For this, hire someone to distract Maximilian. Head to the Norse Child shouting, “Odd jobs for coins!” and pay her 65 silver coins to lure Maximilian away from the house.
Once the children distract Maximilian, take the house key from the small table on the porch and sneak inside.
Once inside, you will find the statue on a table, sitting in front. Pick it up to complete the quest.
AC Valhalla Maximilian’s Key Not Spawning Bug
Some players report a bug that they can’t find the key to unlock the door. There are a few workarounds to counter this problem. You can load an earlier save and try again. Alternatively, you can progress Lunden’s questline and then return and the key seems to spawn by then. Breaking the door dow by shooting two incendiary arrows on it also allows you to get inside.
