Operators get ready, the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event is coming and will be free for everyone, bringing a new mode and exclusive cosmetics to the game. Along with the new event, the pricing in Rainbow Six Siege’s editions will be changed to match Season 3’s updates and new content.
As announced by Ubisoft, Outbreak is a four-week event where all Rainbow Six owners will be able to team-up with two of their friends to take on a mysterious threat. There was a whole ARG going on about this particular event, indicating that it revolves around zombies and surviving. We still don’t have information about Outbreak mode’s gameplay but we won’t be so surprised if it was something like Call of Duty Nazi Zombies. This free event will begin with the launch of the Year 3 Season 1 title update.
Throughout the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event, players can get cosmetic items found in Outbreak packs, which can be found by either buying the game or 300 R6 Credits each. Each pack will contain one new cosmetic item from a pool of 50 unique ones with no duplicates. That means that if you get 50 packs you’ll be rewarded with 50 different cosmetics including universal weapon skins, unique weapon skins, headgear, uniforms, charms, as well as an Outbreak Collection exclusive of this season’s Elite Uniform.
To start off, all players that log in during the Outbreak Event will receive four Outbreak Packs immediately and new players will get 10 more if they purchase the Advanced Edition of the game. Those packs can be obtained even after the event’s end.
Furthermore, the pricing of Rainbow Six Siege is changing and almost all editions are now getting a bit more expensive. The Starter Edition of the game will stay untouched, with its price at $14.99. What changes though are all the other editions of it.
- The Advanced Edition will cost $59.99 and will include all modes and games, 10 outbreak packs as well as 600 R6 Credits.
- The Gold Edition costs $89.99 and contains everything the Advanced Edition does plus the Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Pass.
- The Complete Edition costs $129.99 including everything the Gold Edition does and you also get all the 16 additional operators from Year 1 and 2.
