We have already seen the AMD Ryzen 7 performance, even though the CPUs have been taking a bit of a beating from reviewers we also know that they aren’t really for gaming. The upcoming AMD Ryzen 5 CPUs are mainstream CPUs that will cater to the mainstream gaming community. Here we have leaked AMD Ryzen 5 1400 performance numbers.
We talked about how AMD Ryzen 5 was being sold at some retailers ahead of launch and it seems that someone as able to get their hands on the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 CPU and the person in question has benchmarked the CPU and published a video showing the results.
Here we can see how well the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 performs as compared to the i5 7400 and Pentium G4560 . The AMD chip has the same number of cores as the 7400 but it has more threads. While the 7400 ahs 4 threads the AMD Rzyen 5 1400 has 8.
It is important to note here that the Pentium G4560 is a very cheap dual core Kaby Lake CPU and that it has been put in just for fun. It makes little sense to compare the performance of the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 with the Pentium but you can see what the CPUs have to offer.
You can check out the benchmarking video below.
It is important to note here that the Ryzen 1400 is a mid range CPU and while the base clock of the CPU is 200 MHz higher than the Intel CPU, the boost clock is actually 100 MHz lower. But there the Intel CPU is locked you can overclock the AMD chip.
Looking at the performance numbers of the Ryzen 1400 it is safe to say that the Ryzen 5 1600x will offer some really cool performance and that it will be the sweet spot for gamers.
Let us know what you think about the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 and whether or not you are interesting in building an all AMD build this year.
