The world of Temeria is filled with numerous memorable characters players will encounter in their journey. Not all of them might be on Geralt’s side but in this The Witcher 2 Characters guide, we will still list all these major characters that players will encounter.

The Witcher 2 Characters

Geralt

Geralt is a witcher, a mutant. He works in the shadows and disappears when the job is done. He is unique, being unique puts him in the same danger as non-humans around him who find themselves impaled or hanging from the nearby trees. His sword and deadly skills he posses are his lifeline to save himself of a similar fate.

Though he tries to resolve a conflict without use of force, he can when time demands, kill without relent and remorse. He is neither a saint nor a hero out to save the world, he is a Witcher. Who just wants to survive while remaining true to his profession.

Zoltan

Zoltan Chivay is a close friend of Geralt. Zoltan met Geralt years ago when he was seeking Ciri to pursue his destiny while Zoltan was looking for a fight and a chance to get rich.

In the turmoil of war, they saved each other many time which transformed their acquaintance into a friendship that they enjoy to this day. Zoltan is good with melee attacks and as a dwarf strives for fights in taverns, play Dice Poker, and getting drunk.

Zoltan can be a very useful ally to Geralt and can rely on his battleaxe when time demands it.

Dandelion

Dandelion is a bard who sings the ballads about Geralt’s heroic exploits and noble deeds. He is best at what he does, whether it is his artistic caliber or his love for beauty. Dandelion has been traveling with Geralt for ages, and though it’s impossible to say how it all began, it’s hard to imagine them going their separate ways.

Dandelion is a foul mouthed with a jester’s sense of tact, and has an ego the size of a small kingdom.

Triss

Triss is a promising but modest sorcerer once known as the owner of the most beautiful auburn hair. She has survived many battles and is known to cheat death during the Battle of Sodden to claim the title Fourteenth of the Hill.

Due to her wisdom and courage she holds the title of King Foltest’s adviser. No one questions her position in magic and politics nowadays.

The gates to the witcher stronghold, Kaer Morhen, are always open for her. Geralt could always count on her, together they defeated sinister Salamandra and stopped the rebellion of the Grand Master of the Order of the Flaming Rose. After the attempt on the life of King Foltest, Triss and Geralt once again work together.

Iorweth

Most wanted bandit in the Pontar valley who fights for the rights of nonhumans. He was the leader of scoia’tael commando unit during the war against Nilfgaard, which did great deal of damage to Northern Kingdoms, and after the war has been escaping Temerian special forces.

Iorweth survived the bloody pursuit. After his unit was broken up, once again he gathered veterans disadvantaged by injustice, rebellious elven youth, dwarven mercenaries hunted by law. He created a commando unit, which became a legend.

He lives hidden in the wilderness on the border between Temeria and Aedirn, attacking rich and poor with equal cruelty. There has been several attempts to ambush him by special forces of Temeria but he has successfully escaped all of these. For Vernon Roche, he’s the enemy number one. For local garrisons, he’s Nemesis.

Vernon Roche

Vernon Roche is a man who made himself. He was the guy who tracked and killed scoia’tael commando units during the war against Nilfgaard. After war, he is a hitman for the King, his right-hand man so to say. He is the guy who lives in shadows to ensure the prosperity of the king and his kingdom.

He has his own unit of fearless warriors who will go through anything on his command. A sophisticated tactician who uses his subordinates skillfully to main the high success rate of whatever has been assigned to. Roche has no friends but more enemies than the people living in Temeria.

Dethmold

Thanedd Coup changed his life when his brother died from Scoia’tael arrow, and to say that Dethmold was furious would be an understatement. He didn’t mourn but did create a list of people he found guilty. Dethmold left the service of Esterad of Kovir and found a patron better suited for his aims. He decided that Henselt, king of Kaedwen, should ensure the success of his plans.

He wants the Squirrels to be exterminated, as he considers them to be bandits and murderers. He craves for the deaths of the sorcerers who sided with Nilfgaard, and of all others whom he considers, rightly or not, to have brought about his brother’s death. The list is long and updates continuously.

He likes to serve Henselt, a mighty and aggressive Northern monarch while offering his advice to the King. Since Thanedd has caused many controversies. Henselt though doesn’t like his ambitions but keeps him nearby. He will soon encounter Geralt, will they agree on common ground or become mortal enemies, Geralt makes the first move.

Kingslayer Letho

The elusive who’s every action raises many questions. The mysterious giant with a scarred face, wanted in three kingdoms for his actions, who has the trust of Iorveth and a connection with Geralt of Rivia. But no one knows anything for sure.

What are his motives? how come he finds temporary allies everywhere, why he has always something to offer others cannot provide?e  these are the questions The Witcher 2 will answer. He has once again crossed paths with Geralt. Will Geralt be able to stop the Kingslayer’s plans? we will find out.

Foltest

Foltest is the king of Temeria. Despite his royal demeanor, he committed the not-so-classy act of knocking up his own sister Adda. The child, who was also named Adda, died from an unknown curse and came back as a monster. Geralt was the one who finally dealt with the cursed monster (also known as striga), by either killing it or removing the curse (it was the player’s choice in the first game).

Sile de Tansarville

Sile is one of the founding members of Lodge of Sorceresses. It is a secret institution of female mages, which Triss is also a member of. Geralt describes Sile as being different from the typical overbearing and manipulative magician. Geralt describes Sile as strict, calm, and collected, and a woman who doesn’t display her feminine charms
