The Division crafting system allows players to create items such as weapons, mods, and gear – no cosmetic items.
While the crafting system allows players create some of the basic items right off the bat, advanced items require a blueprint which is usually dropped by high level enemies – mostly found inside the Dark Zone.
For more help on The Division, read out our Gear and Gear Mods Guide, Weapons and Weapon Talents Guide, and Base of Operations Guide.
The Division Crafting Guide
The Division crafting system also requires a crafting station which is located inside the Base of Operations.
While you will stumble upon decent items scattered across the game world and from enemies, crafting system holds its own significance since the process does not require any credits whatsoever!
This guide details everything that you need to know and understand about The Division Crafting System and how to carry everything out:
The Division Crafting Materials Locations
There are multiple methods of acquiring crafting sources: dropped by enemies, scattered across the game world, and found inside chests.
One important thing to note here is that locations where crafting sources are found lying around reset after every 2 hours so players can head to the area after the said duration and snag the crafting source once again.
In addition to this, crafting sources are also categorized according to quality which essentially dictates how good a crafted item will be!
This is where the Material Conversion blueprint comes into play. The MCB basically allows player create a new crafting source of higher quality by spending 5x sources of a lower quality. Here are different crafting sources available in the Division:
- Fabric – Used to craft gear and gear mods
- Weapon Parts – Used to craft weapons and weapon mods
- Tools – Used to craft weapons and weapon mods
- Electronic Parts – Used to craft gear and gear mods
- Division Tech – Used to craft gear, gear mods, weapons, and weapon mods using the Dark Zone blueprints
De-Construction
If you are somehow not happy with an item – weapon or gear – you can always sell it in order to earn a bit of extra credits, but never forget the possibility of de-constructing the said item.
De-construction of an item in the Division allows players to acquire different crafting sources – with the higher quality items yielding higher quality crafting sources.
One last thing that you need to bear in mind when it comes to de-constructing an items is that the entire process is irreversible and cannot be undone by any means.
The Division Crafting Blueprints
Blueprints can be considered as crafting recipes which tell players which and how much of crafting sources are required to craft a certain item.
Crafting blueprints can be found throughout the Division and are divided into Dark Zone blueprints and normal ones. The DZ blueprints can only be found inside the Dark Zone and are generally considered to be the better ones.
As for what can be created using the blueprints, these include Weapons masks, body armor, backpacks, gloves, holsters, knee pads, weapon mods, gear mods, and material conversion.
