Unreal Engine 4 is being used by Sony North West Studio for its new VR game for PlayStation VR. No other details are available yet.

Sony will soon dive into the growing market of VR devices, the company recently started UK-based North West Studio that will specifically work on PlayStation VR Projects for PS4.

There are over 100 games in development for PlayStation VR and North West Studio is just one of the studios working with VR for PS4. However, according to new details, North West is using Unreal Engine 4 for PlayStation VR game. There is no surprise there as Epic Games has worked hard to make sure Unreal 4 is fully compatible with VR devices.

For the time being it is unclear how many others are using the same tech for their projects.

Unreal Engine provides integrated resources to developers and these tools are designed to be compatible with, but not limited to, Oculus Rift, Gear VR, Steam VR, PlayStation VR and more. Epic Games has complete faith in UE’s VR capabilities and believes that VR can change the world and gaming forever.

So when we hear that North West Studio is working with Epic’s technology, it is definitely something to be excited about. The game they are working on is still in early development so we shouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon.
