Red Dead Redemption 2 is less than a week away from launching for consoles. Still, there is no news on the PC version of the game. However, Q4 2019 is the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release date according to the listing.
Red Dead Redemption 2 PC listing comes from the Swedish branch of MediaMarkt. The online retailer has set up a product page for the PC version with a placeholder release date of December 31, 2019, for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Release.
This is not the first time hints about the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release date has emerged. Previously, a Rockstar dev himself confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is in development for PC.
The dev in question has worked on GTA V, L.A Noire, and Red Dead Redemption 2 as a programmer. The dev listed Red Dead Redemption 2 PC on his profile.
Not only that, Rockstar parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has many times emphasized the importance of PC. However, neither Rockstar or Take-Two has confirmed or denied the PC version.
According to Take-Two, PC is very important for them. The PC platform is driven solely by digital distribution and has been for a long time while consoles have just started to adopt the digital distribution.
Speaking of the game, the Red Dead Redemption 2 preload has started. Those who pre-ordered the game can now download the game before it launches next week.
The reason behind this early preload is probably due to the game’s massive install size. The game requires 92 GB on PS4 if you buy it digitally. Not only that, this 92 GB then expands 50 GB, meaning the total size is around 142 GB.
Furthermore, Rockstar Games is under fire from the community following the reveal of several 100-hour work weeks.
Gamers and developers took it to Twitter to criticize the studio for its treatment with employees. However, the studio clarified by saying that it doesn’t force any of its employees to do overtime.
Following the incident, Rockstar has allowed its employees to talk about the studio’s work environment on Twitter. Employees are praising the studio for its work environment.
However, one ex-Rockstar employee paints a different picture. According to him, working at Rockstar Games felt like having a gun on his head.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action game developed by Rockstar Games. The game will launch on October 26, 2018, for PS4 and Xbox One.
