Unfortunately, Sword and Shield feature fewer Legendaries to catch than other titles in the franchise. There are only a couple for each version, and they are pretty easy to find in the game. Nonetheless, we’ve prepared this guide to make things a bit easier for you. Our Pokemon Sword and Shield Legendary Pokemon Locations guide states what each of these creatures can do, and how you can catch them once you get to the appropriate locations.
Pokemon Sword and Shield Legendary Pokemon Locations
Zacian
This Legendary Pokemon is exclusive to Pokemon Sword. It is considered a Fairy-type until whips out the Rusted Sword. This is a weapon that it creates by absorbing metal particles. Then Zacian becomes known as a fairy and steel-type.
This makes it weak against Poison-types as well as certain other steel types. E.g: Lucario, Steelix and Bronzong. However, it is strong against Fighting, Bug and Dark types. Along with this, it has total immunity against Dragon types.
Catching Zacian
You can’t catch this Zacian until the post-game in Pokemon Sword. You’ll be visited by Professor Magnolia after the credits and he will give you a Master Ball.
You will then have to follow Hop into the Slumbering Weald, where you will have to beat him in another battle. After this, both of you will return the Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield back to where you acquired them from.
Then you will have to battle two brothers who start explaining the history of the Galar Region. Winning this fight will get back whatever item you used when battling Eternatus. After Hop loses, the two brothers will run off across Galar and start their quest of coercing wild Pokemon to Dynamax.
You will travel across the region fighting different Dynamax Pokemon in stadiums until you find yourself back at Hammerlocke Stadium where you fought Eternatus. You will have to use Zacian to battle Zamazenta.
Once you win that fight, you can catch Zacian and then return to the Slumbering Weald.
