Playstation 5 Expected To Release In Late 2019/ Early 2020, Anouncement To Come Next Year

A big pile of information for PlayStation 5 has been made public, as Julien Chièze (ex-Gameblog) claims to be quoting anonymous sources from the industry. As he reveals, PlayStation 5 might be coming as soon as late 2019 or early 2020, with teases and the official announcement happening next year.

The rumors come from a Youtube video Chièze has recorded, giving information about PlayStation 5’s release window, architecture, possible titles to be released on the console etc. You obviously should take all these rumors with a grain of salt, however, everything that Chièze has stated sounds legit and possible.

Among many things, we get a first glimpse of the PlayStation 5 release window, which is rumored to be late 2019-early 2020. As Chièze correctly states, Sony is adapting to a three-year cycle for their console, with PlayStation 4 releasing on 2013, PlayStation 4 Pro in 2016 and finally we come to  PlayStation 5 estimated to release in 2020. Even if the official release of the console isn’t stated for 2019, Sony will start teasing it and making some announcements about it before next year ends.

As for the announcements for the release of PlayStation 5, Chièze believes that Sony won’t be making any this year. E3 2018 is a huge chance for the company to rely more on Playstation VR and Pro and try to boost it a bit more before the big reveals. After all Playstation VR seems to be a core feature of the upcoming console. He expects the first PlayStation 5 announcements to be coming after the next big holiday sales, to not compromise Playstation 4 revenue.

We also had a fair share of information about the architecture of the console, which seems to be capable of 4K resolution and 60 frames per second in gameplay. According to Chièze, Sony has been clear on what they want for the console, and the 4K/60 fps model is a necessity. You can read all the info here.
