Nihon Falcom President Interested In Launching Games For Nintendo Switch

Nihon Falcom, the company behind the famous The Legend of Heroes and Ys JRPG franchises, has expressed interest in developing titles for Nintendo Switch. In a recent interview with DualShockers, Nihon Falcom’s president Toshihiro Kondo expressed interest in bringing the company’s games to Switch.

Yea, if the opportunity presents itself, I would definitely like to get Falcom games on the Switch.

He also praised Switch of being a “Nintendo machine” and called it cool. While it is unclear if Nihon Falcom will actually go through with developing a game for Nintendo Switch or not, it is possible that the company might start their journey with ports of some of their games which are already on PlayStation consoles and PC such as Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky or Ys Origin.

Falcom isn’t the only third-party developer to express interest in Nintendo Switch. Despite not having a lot of third party titles on the console right now, numerous developers and publishers have already showcased their plans for the console which are clearly better than they were for WiiU.

Back in April, Square Enix hinted that they actually had more titles in development for Nintendo’s hybrid console than they had for Project Scorpio, now known as Xbox One X. The company will not only port old games to Switch but also develop new titles.

Similarly, other big western companies like Ubisoft are also aboard the Nintendo Switch wagon. Despite the console’s launch issues, the third party support doesn’t seem to be dying anytime soon.

Ubisoft even announced their first Switch exclusive title, Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a crossover between two of the most famous franchises from both companies.

With growing third party support including Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls Skyrim coming out on Nintendo Switch, it is no surprise that the console seems to be doing well against PS4 and Xbox One in US market.

Enjoys all sorts of games except those made by Nintendo. Trying to stay up to date with all games, entertainment media and memes.
