Metal Gear Survive is Taken Well By Hardcore Gamers: Game Producer

Metal Gear Survive is going to be unlike any other MGS and according to game producer, it is received well by hardcore MGS fans.

Metal Gear Solid Survive is well received by hardcore MGS fans, according to a claim by Yuji Korekado, the game producer. The game has been criticised by the community for not being in the same league as Metal Gear Solid and being a rip off of the franchise.

After the departure of Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima, we were provided with MGS Survive by Konami. Zombies based game didn’t sit well with the community nor its tone suited the series. Still, during focus-testing hardcore gamers liked what game, according to Yuji Korekado.

Speaking with the official Xbox Magazine, Yoji Korekado stated that the reception was overwhelmingly positive. Korekado also suggested that MGS Survive shouldn’t be taken as a continuation of the saga.

At the time, fans of the series and gamers, in general, seemed to take Metal Gear Survive to be a continuation of the Metal Gear series saga, so I regret that we caused that confusion. But after the title was announced at Gamescom in 2016, we gathered a group of hardcore gamers in Canada and did some focustesting of a prototype of Metal Gear Survive. The results were really positive. We were actually taken aback by how well it was received by those players.

Korekado claimed that Survive is a Metal Gear game unlike any other. Bold claims are being made here but the problem for many isn’t with Survive, the issue comes when they named it Metal Gear as it clearly doesn’t feel like an MGS title.

Still, fingers crossed; Konami may actually pull something special out of its hat. Metal Gear Survive beta is taking place later this month so make sure you check it out and judge for yourself.

Metal Gear Survive is available to pre-order on Amazon for $39.99.
