God of War DLC Would Have Been As Big As The Lost Legacy

Cory Barlog has now reassured all the curious fans by saying that there won't be any DLC coming to God of War 2018, in respone to his earlier Tweet.

Cory Barlog took it to Twitter recently to break our hearts by confirming there’s no DLC coming for God of War. Despite the massive success, we are not going to receive any expansions God of War PS4.

The game director said that “there is no DLC coming for the game. Sorry”. His clarification was directed at another Tweet in which he seemingly teased something new coming related to God of War. Unfortunately, he was referring to the reveals coming this week as part of the God of War’s anniversary.

It’s not Barlog’s first time to talk about DLC of God of War 2018. Back in January, he revealed in an interview that the game almost had a DLC but it was canceled because it would have been massive.

There was a time when I wrote a couple of DLCs that we were talking about. Ok, what if we did release some other stuff after?

You know, there are interesting ideas but I think the amount of time we’d have to put into it, it would start to end up kinda like a Left Behind or a First Light kinda thing where it’s just so big…like Lost Legacy of something like that.

I think I have a difficulty with the lower ambition portion, that I end up [saying] ‘maybe it’s a little too big!

Looks like that DLC is never going to come out. If you ask me, a game as massive as God of War doesn’t need a DLC. Kratos is bound to make a return in God of War 5 which seems to be titled “Fimbulwinter.”

Until then, we have God of War celebration event to attend this week. The game released a year ago this week. To celebrate the occasion, SIE Santa Monica Studio is giving away freebies to everyone on PlayStation 4. You can watch the “Thank you” video by the studio here. The celebration is very well deserved as the game has won multiple Game of the Year awards.

Players can now grab a new God of War dynamic PS4 theme from the PlayStation Store. It shows a scene with Kratos and Atreus standing in the Lake of Nine.

Starting on Wednesday, fans can grab a free set of God of War PS4 avatars to show their love for the game. These items will be available for free and no purchase of the original game is required.

God of War 2018 is now available to play exclusively on PlayStation 4.
