Keanu Reeves To Fight For Transgenders In Cyberpunk 2077 As A Man of Principle

Keanu Reeves is Cyberpunk 2077 will fight the oppressive megacorporations. He plays a big role in the game a support character.

Keanu Reeves’ character in Cyberpunk 2077 is a “rebel” and someone who stands for “principle.” He and V will join forces to fight against the mega-corporations that manipulate the populations and are sucking the life out of the people of Night City.

The topic of megacorporations was discussed earlier when CD Projekt RED came under fire for a trans poster. According to members of the LGBTQ community, the poster is transphobic. CD Projekt RED came forward to explain how the poster represents the times V lives in.

Megacorporations use a variety of tactics for their advertisements and most of them are questionable. These corporations are the reason why crime rates and poverty levels are going up in the city, people live in fear, and there is an obsession with cybernetic enhancements.

“Hypersexualization is terrible,” said CD Projekt RED. The studio made a conscious decision to discuss this topic in the game mainly because this is actually happing in the modern times we live in.

Keanu Reeves’ character plays a major role in the fight against these corporations. His character can be considered a “second protagonist,” according to CD Projekt RED quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

Speaking with YouTuber Yongyea, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz spoke about the role of Keanu Reeves (Johnny Silverhand) in Cyberpunk 2077.

Johny Silverhand basically is a rebel and a character of principle, like he stands for an idea. In this specific case, the idea is to oppose big corporations that are ruling the Night City and have built this oppressive system that grinds people up and treats them badly.

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz went on to discuss how Keanu Reeves got on board with Cyberpunk 2077 and surprisingly, no one at the studio knew about it until only a year ago.

Keanu sent a special video message to the Cyberpunk 2077 development team at CD Projekt RED.

Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16 for 2020. Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually make it to Xbox Scarlett and PS5 as hinted by CD Projekt RED in a separate interview.
