Dark Souls Series Won’t End With Dark Souls 3: From Software

Dark Souls series may not end with Dark Souls 3. There roam for a fourth game according to Hidetaka Miyazaki of From Software.

Dark Souls is one of the biggest RPG franchises we have around today. It is known for testing player’s skills and patient in combat, which makes it that much more fun to play. The feeling to triumph after hours of grinding can’t be explained in words.

However, Dark Souls 3 is said to be last game to release in the series, or is it?

According to From Software, even though Dark Souls 3 pretty much wraps it up, the series could still go on.  When asked about the next Dark Souls, Miyazaki of From Software said:

At this moment, I don’t know the answer to that. The story of Dark Souls III suggests the series’ closure, but that doesn’t mean the Dark Souls series will end. An attractive story leads to another story. I’m looking forward to hearing what players think of it.

Every good thing must come to an end, so does Dark Souls series but it is time for it to go? We are already losing Uncharted this year but we think Dark Souls is a series that could still go on in some shape or form.

Bloodborne is a great platform to continue what Dark Souls started. It was a game release on PS4 back in 2015 and was essentially a reskinned Dark Souls from From Software.

If there can not be a Dark Souls 4, there is definitely room for Bloodborne 2. But for Bloodborne to carry on the legacy of Dark Souls, it needs to go multi-platform which may not happen.

From Software could move to a new IP after Dark Souls 3 but bring us the fourth installment when they feel it is the right time to do it

Dark Souls 3 is coming out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (frame rate might be locked at 30) later this month in Japan, and on April 12th in the U.S. Do you think Dark Souls should end now?
