Borderlands originally released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows in 2009 and it looks like after 9 years we might be getting a remastered version of the game as Borderlands GOTY edition for Xbox One and PS4.
The Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee posted a list recently which includes a title called Borderlands GOTY Edition which tells us that Gearbox could be secretly working on the remastered version of the game.
The original remaster of Borderlands will follow the remastered version of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel which have been remastered already for Xbox One, PS4 and Microsoft as a part of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
There are many chances that this is true because original Borderlands is the only left to not get any treatment.
This will also come as a surprise because of the Steam edition of Borderlands: Game of the Year which is already available. This could also mean that PC will get another revamped or facelifted version of the game.
The interesting part is that Borderlands is currently available to play on Xbox One and PS4 through backward compatibility which makes us think that whether this will be a simple remaster or something new, we will have to wait to find out more.
Other than that, If you were expecting to see Borderlands 3 at E3 2018 then we have bad news for you as it has been confirmed by Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford in recent Tweets that it will appear this year.
Randy Pitchford discussed human nature that no one will ever believe that Borderlands 3 is not coming to E3 2018. He appreciates the support and love for Borderlands but the next game is not coming at E3.
So while we have a confirmation that there is no Borderlands 3 coming this E3 we still have a hope for the remastered version of Borderlands in case it doesn’t get denied by the team also.
