Breath Of The Wild 2 Will Be Better Than the Original, Say Designers

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be even better than the original game, according to some of the game's lead designers.

If you were watching the Nintendo Direct that was shown at E3 2019, then you’re likely familiar with the big bombshell that the company had at the very end. Breath of the Wild 2 was announced there and though we haven’t gotten any information since, Nintendo’s expectations for the title are high.

Breath of the Wild 2 apparently takes place two years after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ended, with Calamity Ganon defeated and peace restored to Hyrule. However, the trailer for the game showed Link and Zelda traveling deep beneath Hyrule Castle, only to find Ganondorf’s corpse waiting.

We have no idea of what will be coming in Breath of the Wild 2, but if Satoshi Takizawa, Manabu Takehara, and Yohei Izumi are excited about it (being the art director, lead designer, and environment head), then hopefully it’ll live up to its expectations.

The original Breath of the Wild is seen as one of the best games ever made for completely upending the Legend of Zelda formula in a variety of ways, ranging from cooking to picking up new breakable weapons to the wide-open world that players could travel around in.

In order for Breath of the Wild 2 to surpass the original, Nintendo will have to upgrade all of those factors along with everything else in a wide variety of ways. However, until Nintendo is actually willing to show us something from the game, we’ll just have to wait and see.

The teaser for the Breath of the Wild sequel gave us more than a few things to speculate on anyway. Why was Ganondorf beneath Hyrule Castle? What was all of the creepy magic and that weird arm holding him in place?

We’ll likely get answers to all of these questions when Breath of the Wild 2 actually comes out, but for now we’ll just have to be patient and wait for Nintendo to actually show us new stuff about the game.
