Desert Titan is one of the four Titans you can encounter in Ark Extinction. It is a pretty powerful creature that is accompanied by a lot of small minions called Flock.
Once tamed, the creature can be used as a mobile base or tank. You can only summon Desert Titan using the Desert Terminal. This guide will cover full details about summoning and taming it in Ark Extinction.
How to Tame Desert Titan?
Before you head into taming, we recommend using Quetzel because of its good stamina. Equip it with a platform saddle and build a closed 1×1 box to hide the rider.
Now, head inside the cave and summon the Desert Titan. Once the creature is summoned, fly towards it; whenever you get the shock effect, fly under its tentacles-looking wing. These are the corrupted nodes; destroying them will allow you to tame the creature.
If you get stuck in the Desert Titan’s wing during the taming, fly back and get under its wing. Continue repeating the process until all nodes are gone.
Once you have cleared one side of the creature, fly to the other side. It will also do a flip, and you will fall if you’re on top of the Desert Titan. After clearing the wings, get under its tail to free it from corruption.
When the tail part is done, go above the Desert Titan and press E to tame it.
Ark Extinction Desert Titan Location
In Ark Extinction, you can only summon this creature using the Desert Terminal. The Desert Terminal is located inside a cave in the lower portion of the map. The coordinates to the cave entrance are 87.4 Latitude and 70.4 Longitude, and the Desert Terminal is marked on the map image below at 97.1 Latitude and 90.2 Longitude.
You will need to insert all of the following items to summon the boss titan:
- x100 Corrupted Heart
- x10 Fire Talons (Wyvern Talon)
- x10 Sarcosuchus Skin
- x1 Artifact of Chaos

Desert Titan Spawn Command
If you’re finding it hard to locate the Desert Titan on Ark Extinction, open up the console command box by pressing TAB on your keyboard, but if you’re playing on PlayStation, you’ll need to hold down L1, R1, Square, and Triangle at once, and similarly, on Xbox, hold down, LB, RB, X, and Y at once. After the console opens, type “admincheat Summon DesertKaiju_Character_BP_C” and press enter.
