Red Dead Redemption 2 Exotics Locations Guide

Our Red Dead Redemption 2 Exotics Requests Locations Guide will help you learn all about completing all Exotics Requests for Duchesses and Other Animals.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, Exotics Requests are rare items that can be collected as part of the “Duchesses and Other Animals”. The mission can be started by talking to Algernon Wasp. You can find this stranger inside the wrought-iron greenhouse in the backyard of a large blue house, north of Saint-Denis after you complete The Gilded Cage during the 4th chapter.

In this RDR2 Exotics Guide, we will walk you through how and where you can find these rare items in the game. We will also tell you about the rewards that you can earn by providing these rare items to Algernon.

Once you have talked to Algernon, there are 5 stages that you need to complete. Each stage comprises of Exotic Items that you need to retrieve. Each time you complete the list you will get rewards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Exotic Requests

Rare birds drop Plumes. You can hunt for them in the Bayou Swamps. You can find them around the Lagris Islands. Furthermore, nests of Gator Eggs can also be found in this area. However, these will often be protected by alligators so you should keep an eye out for them.

Rare Orchids can be picked a single time per stage at each spawn point. You need to keep in mind that you might encounter items other than those that are on Algernon’s list.

Keep in mind that for all these exotic, if there aren’t enough items available at a given time, you can always set up a camp nearby, rest there for a bit and then return to see if the exotic items or animals have respawned or not. Similarly, you can also fast travel to a nearby location and then ride back from there to the farming areas.

These can be mailed to a mysterious buyer for rewards. Some of the mission-related orchids are found on the ground but then there are others that grow on tree trunks. This is true for the following:

  1. Rat Tail
  2. Acuna’s Star
  3. Cigar
  4. Clamshell
  5. Ghost
  6. Lady of the Night
  7. Spider
  8. Night Scented

Exotic Items Locations

In order to find out where you can find these Exotic Items in RDR2, you need to take a look at the map of the world where we have marked the locations of different types of items. You can check out the map below:

You can open the maps up in a new tab to get a better look. The key is included in the map but if you are having trouble reading it then I have included below as well. The plants can be easily found if you follow the map and know where to look. When near the marked areas, just use your Eagle Vision by pressing R3+L3 and look for the blue shimmery dust as it surrounds the plants.
