It seems to be that future Xbox design is in the works. A recent job listing for Senior Electrical Engineer by Microsoft mentioned working on the future Xbox Designs.

According to the job listing, they are looking for a candidate who will be the “primary technical focal point for existing and leading-edge memory technologies on future Xbox design projects”.

Furthermore, there are a lot of other requirements on even more technical levels as well that too imply the same. You can check out the job listings for further details.

Putting all that into context, there is a lot of discussion taking place regarding two of the most anticipated consoles. PlayStation 5 and the future Xbox.

Different game developers have been discussing what will be the followups of these two consoles be like. There have been some predictions that both Sony Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft will be rolling out cloud-based consoles.

Although we would recommend you to take this with a grain of salt, as these are mere speculations and predictions.

One of the most interesting suggestion by a developer was that there is a high probability that both future consoles could be iterative ones instead of a completely new hardware.

Another prediction suggests that Microsoft is considering a new type of DRAM and GDDR6 as the main memory for the future Xbox.

Again these are just speculations, so waiting for what the companies have to say before we take these speculations any further is a right choice.
