The “officially licensed PUBG on mobile” aka PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile is now released in the West. Well, not everywhere but it has been spotted over at the Canadian Google Play Store.
After the announcement that Fortnite is soon coming to mobile devices, it was almost inevitable for its competitor, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to make a quick release too. The game was first revealed last month for an eastern release, however, Tencent hasn’t announced a western released at that time.
Tencent, the Chinese tech giant, has the rights to the PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in China, they have also announced though that they are working on two mobile versions of the game.
An official western release for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile wasn’t revealed until now until the game has been spotted on the Canadian Google Play Store. Its description reads:
Officially licensed PUBG MOBILE, the original battle royale style game is coming! Unreal Engine 4 brings smooth, next-generation graphics to your mobile device, and produces a graphical and audio experience that perfectly recreates the PC version.
If you are not from Canada, you can bypass the country restrictions by downloading the .apk version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on your Android device and get into it right away. Its release on iOS is not yet announced and it might be a while before we get one. Until then you can try similar titles like Free Fire if you can stand the constant glitches.
In related news, Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to iOS soon while support for Android will come in the next few months. Epic Games announced the arrival of Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile and confirmed that on mobile it is going to be the same game as it is on other platforms. The same 100 player experience, the same features, and everything. The most interesting part is that the game will feature crossplay and cross progression, as confirmed by Epic Games.
