Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the most anticipated RPG of the decade and it looks to fill the shoes of The Witcher 3. Devs are making sure they offer a quality RPG and in fact, the team over at CD Project RED are treating Cyberpunk 2077 as their “new Witcher 3.”
During Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018, Piotr Nielubowicz and Adam Kiciński from CD Project RED stated that Cyberpunk is even more ambitious than The Witcher 3. As we know, The Witcher 3 was the most ambitious RPG ever created and Cyberpunk is aiming to surpass him.
The devs are claiming that this game is going to not only appeal to regular players but also to hardcore RPG fans. There is still time before we get to see this game in action but we expect something at this year’s E3. In fact, we recently reported that CD Projekt RED is scheduled to appear at this year’s event.
For such a big game reveal, a big venue like E3 seems befitting. However, CD RED hasn’t explicitly said anything about a possible E3 reveal.
Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay will take players on a 60+ hour journey in the single-player mode. Side activities should contribute to another 60+ hours if the game aims to be as ambitious as The Witcher 3.
As far as combat goes, the game’s combat is going to allow players to experience thrilling encounters, according to CD Project RED.
Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release sometime next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Similar to The Witcher 3, no DRM is planned for the game as well as no loot boxes, as confirmed by CD Projekt RED.
