The Xbox One X is days away from release and we are already seeing unboxing videos online even though players cannot review gameplay on the console yet. It is just a matter of time before the embargo is lifted and we can talk about the upcoming Xbox One X and the game enhancements that it has to offer. It has just been revealed that Outlast 2 will support native 4K 60 FPS on Xbox One X.
The Xbox One X will be the most powerful console on the market and more than 40% more powerful than any other console on the market. Having that said it is great news to know what the console will be able to run Outlast 2 at 4K 60 FPS. You can check out our review of the game here.
Previously several gamers insisted that the game was too difficult and that is why developers have to patch the game in order to make the difficulty a bit easier for players. According to Red Barrels Games’ co-founder and Senior Game Designer Phillippe Morin:
“Outlast 2 will support native 4K and run at 60 FPS on the Xbox One X, but it won’t support HDR and Dolby Atmos. The process was pretty straightforward for our programmer. The patch is already live, by the way!”
All this is well and good but it is important to note that the game will not support HDR or Dolby Atmos which is a bummer if you ask me. Maybe these features could be added somewhere down the line but that is really doubtful.
In recent news, we have also learned that Sunset Overdrive will not get support on the Xbox One X. I am sure that is a title that people wanted to play at the higher resolution.
Let us know what you think about Outlast 2 and whether or not you are going to be playing the game on the Xbox One X when the console comes out next month.
