CDPR has no Plans to add 900p Resolution on Witcher 3 PS4 Version to Boost Performance

CDPR has confirmed that the studio will not implement a lower resolution in Witcher 3 PS4 version in order to improve performance and will rely on updates.

According to CD Projekt Red, the studio has no plans to let Playstation 4 owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt choose a lower resolution – say 900p instead of 1080p – in order to increase the game’s FPS.

Both Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of the game suffered from randomly dropping FPS after recently rolled out v.1.07 update. Responding to a fan over Twitter, Community Lead and Website Coordinator at CDPR, Marcin Momot said that the studio has no plans to include a 900p resolution in PS4 version of the game to improve performance:

Speaking of another issue where Geralt is unable to examine pigs during Fool’s Gold Quest, Momot said that the issue has already been resolved on PC version of the game and will soon be fixed on consoles as well:

These issues have been addressed on PC already and will be fixed on consoles in the near future. We apologize for this.

Lastly, responding to a fan asking whether we will ever see a bald Geralt in the game, Momot confirmed that will never happen. But hey, PC mods for the win!

In related The Witcher 3 news, the studio recently confirmed a New Game Plus mode as the final free DLC for the game and outlined what will carry over to the next playthrough and what will not. To read up more, head over to the post!
