Twilight Princess HD Golden Bugs can be found after meeting up with a young girl named Agitha in Castle Town. This girl basically has an admiration for collecting insects in Twilight Princess HD and rewards you for finding them.

There are a total of 12 species which are native to Hyrule and each one comes in both male and female variants. This guide basically details the locations of all the Twilight Princess HD Golden Bugs in the game:

Twilight Princess HD Golden Bugs Locations

Ant – Male
Location: You need to head to the backside of the graveyard in Kakariko Village and find the insect on a tree; near the hole.

Ant – Female
Location: You need to head to the west side of Kakariko Village and find the insect inside the house before the bomb shop.

Beetle – Male
Location: You need to head to the southern side of Hyrule Field in the Farone Province. Once there, you’ll find the insect between two trees.

Beetle – Female
Location: You need to head to the western side of Hyrule Field in the Farone Province. Once there, head south from the large dirt area and find the insect there.

Butterfly – Male
Location: You need head to the Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and get to the east side of Castle Town to find the insect inside a flower field.

Butterfly – Female
Location: You need head to the Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and find the insect on the vine ledge located on the northeast edge of the east Castle Town exit.

Dayfly – Male
Location: You need to head over to the center of southern edge of the Gerudo Desert. Once there, find the low (at night) on the north side of the area to find the insect.

Dayfly – Female
Location: You need to head over to the southeastern corner of Gerudo Desert; near the missing bridge.

Dragonfly – Male
Location: You need to head over to Zora’s Domain, reach the southwest hill, and find the insect near the area with several waterfalls.

Dragonfly – Female
Location: You need to use the Gale Boomerang to find the insect flying over the river in front of the boat rental shop.

Grasshopper – Male
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in the Eldin Province, near the entrance to Kakariko Village to find the insect.

Grasshopper – Female
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in the Eldin Province, near the northeast edge of the area.

Ladybug – Male
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and find the insect in a pillar in the south side of Castle Town.

Ladybug – Female
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and find the insect south entrance of the Castle Town.

Mantis – Male
Location: You need to find the insect in the northern edge of Lake Hylia’s Great Bridge. However, do note that you’ll need the Gale Boomerang in order to grab the insect.

Mantis – Female
Location: You need to head over to the South of the Great Bridge before the wooden bridge and find the Gale Boomerang in order to acquire the insect from the east side.

Phasmid – Male
Location: You need to head over to the southern arch on the Eldin Bridge on the northwest corner of Hyrule Field and find the insect inside.

Phasmid – Female
Location: You need to head over to the north of Eldin Bridge and find the insect on a cliff ledge – do note that you’ll need Clawshot to nab the insect.

Pill Bu – Male
Location: You need to head over to Kakariko Gorge and find the insect on the south end of the bridge.

Pill Bu – Female
Location: You need to head over to Kakariko Gorge and find the insect inside a flower bed on the southwest edge of the area; near the north side of the bridge.

Snail – Male
Location: Once you arrive at the Sacred Grove, head inside from the entrance of the southwest alcove to find the insect.

Snail – Female
Location: From the Sacred Grove, you need to head inside the Temple of Time and find the insect on the west side of the staircase.

Stag Beetle – Male
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and find the insect near a tree on the east side of the area – on the opposite side of the bridge.

Stag Beetle – Female
Location: You need to head over to Hyrule Field in Lanayru Province and find the insect in a rocky area; directly above a bombable entrance on the north side.
