You Need to Buy a Train Ticket to Fast Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2

How to Fast Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2? Well, there two ways to use Red Dead Redemption 2 fast travel feature. One requires a train ticket.

On the brink of its successful release, the reviews for Red Dead 2 are in, and it’s shaping to be the best open world game of our generation. Open world meaning there will be a lot of ground to cover, both on foot and on horseback as well. Now, will all this have to be done manually? No. Because like most open world games with huge maps, there is fast travel but how does Red Ded Redemption 2 fast travel works?

Fast travel in Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t exactly function the same way as it did in say, Skyrim: where you could travel from any point of the world as long as you weren’t in combat.

Red Ded Redemption 2 Fast Travel Explained

There are two main ways to be warped to your desired destination, or rather, at least close to it by using Red Dead Redemption 2 fast travel feature.

A: To fast travel in Red Ded Redemption 2 you can purchase a stagecoach ticket from a station near you and hop aboard an old western style train, which takes you to another station of your choice.

B: You use one of your gang’s camps. The camps are acting not only as social hubs to interact with gang members and play poker, but also points for fast travel.

This isn’t there from the start as it is an upgrade to purchase from the “Upgrade Dutch’s lodgings” option. This accomplishes the task of motivating your gang members into paying more tribute. Followed by a map upgrade which you then use to travel between camps.

Although will any of us really be fast traveling in a game that emphasizes a massive open world for the player to explore? At least initially players should avoid it in order to explore the beauty of Rockstar’s take of the Wild West.
